It was a very long time ago, but one time I swear I got Eevee as a starter in Pokemon Yellow, and my Rival got Pikachu. It's very weird that I've never heard of this ever online, but my friend says the same thing happened to him, but since he was young he didn't know he had to save his game and turned it off.. Has anyone ever heard of this? (Or are we both just hallucinating?)

That has not happened to me yet, but I have only played the game once. Suppose it could be a glitch?

Oh, I believe it's a glitch: but it must be incredibly obscure.

Wow that sounds strange but possible. Now I don't pretend to be an expert in computer code, but when you get your starter pokémon the game transfers its data to you and your rival's starter to him, and I suppose it could get mixed up.

I googled this and this thread was the third thing that came up.

Ahah. I hope this is a real glitch, if it is I am so re-playing Yellow but restarting until I get Eevee.

I've never heard of this before. o_o;; But it would make trading Eevees to my brother's blue game for his Dex completation soo much EASIER...

I better research this sometime! XD Thank you, person who posted this.

My friend told me this once. Her yellow was extremely glitchy, so maybe it could have been possible...but i always end up with the chubby pikachu oak gives you

The real question is, does Eevee follow you around or is the overworld sprite still a Pikachu?

/ Has a copy of "Yellow" she hasn't played with in a long time and is getting way too curious about this.

Considering there was no overworld sprite for Eevee, you probably would have no one following you. Based on the fact that the starter Pikachu has to be in you party for it to be following you.
