Where do I go after I get the initial 8 Gym Badges... I'm kind of confused?

New Bark Town. Surf east. Walk a lot.

Ryuu you're forgetting to tell him he needs to go to Ecruteak beat the Kimono Girls and then go after his respective game's bird.

Well, if haven't already defeated the Kimino Girls and caught Ho-Oh/Lugia at the Tin tower/Whirl Islands, then go do that first.

Then you have to go back to New Bark and surf east until you reach some land. Go through Tohjo Falls and continue on battling trainers. You should reach the Victory Road gatehouse. Then you go through Victory Road. and you're there! Also, peace of advice. Your rival will challenge you just as you are about to leave Victory Road, so be prepared.
