Empoleon joins the fray in Pokémon UNITE

Empoleon is the latest Pokémon to join the fray in Pokémon UNITE. Empoleon is a Melee All-Rounder with Intermediate difficulty that deals Special damage, and can be purchased from the in-game shop for

790 Aeos Gems. It will also be available for

13,000 Aeos Coins from next week.

Players who purchase Empoleon's Unite license during the first week will receive a special background. As is usual for a new Pokémon release, a new set of Holowear has also been made available, with Regal Style: Empoleon now available in Zirco Trading for

890 Aeos Gems. This Holowear features Audio/Visual FX for Movement.

To celebrate Empoleon's addition to the game, a special in-game event will be held from Friday, September 19th to Tuesday, October 14th, where players can complete missions and collect special coins that can be exchanged for Empoleon's Unite License.

Empoleon Moves Overview​

Empoleon starts off as Piplup, and evolves into Prinplup at level 5, and then into Empoleon at level 7. It has the ability Torrent, which increases boosts a move when the Torrent gauge has been filled up to a certain amount by dealing damage.

Empoleon's first move slot consists of Water Gun, which can upgrade into Hydro Cannon or Whirlpool. Water Gun deals damage by blasting a forceful shot of water. Hydro Cannon launches a watery blast which deals damage and leaves them unable to act. When boosted by Torrent, a whirlpool appears and deals damage over time, and also recovers the user's HP when in contact with the whirlpool. Whirlpool creates a violent, swirling whirlpool around itself, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits and restoring the user's HP. When boosted by Torrent, the amount of damage dealt and and HP restored are increased, and the move also throws opposing Pokémon before ending with a slash, dealing additional damage.

Empoleon's second move slot consists of Peck, which can upgrade into Metal Claw or Aqua Jet. Peck deals damage to opponents by jabbing them with the user's sharply pointed beak. Metal Claw has the user charge in the designated direction, damaging opponents with wings of steel and shoving them. When boosted by Torrent, the user is granted a shield effect. Aqua Jet hass the user lunge at blinding speed in the designated direction, dealing damage and increasing the user's basic attack speed for a short time. When boosted by Torrent, it decreases the Sp. Def of opposing Pokémon.

Empoleon's Unite Move is Sovereign Slide, which has the "Dash" effect. The user slides at high speed in a designated direction and creates a whirlpool on impact, damaging opponents and throwing them. The whirlpool remains around the user for short time, applying a slowing effect to opponents and increasing the user's Torrent gauge faster.
