On June 6, 2006, the world will end! Or so they say....

Anybody believe this, cause I sure don't.
 
So many things wrong with that statement. From the incorrect number, to the bullshit date (both books of the Bible were written BEFORE the modern calendar was implemented, and the modern calendar is off by about 6 years because they failed to count the years BETWEEN kings). Believe me, the world could end at ANY time, but I SINCERELY doubt it'll be on any pre-conceived date, unless you're like me and say EVERYday that the world will end tomorrow.
 
I'm going out on a limb here and say you're trying to scare us (and failed miserably).

It's okay, though. I was really close to believing it. :awww:

But I mean, I'm worried about the people who do and will commit suicide andgo on killing sprees!
 
I think the crazy people will go nuts and wreak havoc, but no end of the world. I have heard many dates for the end of the world. I'm sure that once I noticed that nothing happened on a day that the world was supposed to end, or at least something really horrible was supposed to happen. I know I observed Judgment Day from Terminator. Thankfully, the prophecies of the original Star Trek did not happen, either, but for them, the 1990s were 30 years away. Anything could've happened. (For those that don't know, there was supposed to be a third world war involving genetically superior beings created by science-KHAAAAAAAAN!) The tabloids constantly rave about the end of the world, but I haven't seen it happen yet. I don't think I've seen anyone that really believes the world will end on June 6 of this year, though. I've seen more that believe some time in 2010 or 2012. I do not believe in superstitions. I will feel a lot better once we have a more competent individual in charge of our country, though. If anyone can make enough countries mad at us to cause another world war, it's him.

Still, who is 'they'? My dad believes that the world ends (for you) when you die. (I should add he's an atheist)

I also thought the devil's number was 666. Well, as Robert Frost said:

Some say the world will end in fire, others say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
for power ice is also great,
And would also suffice.

What about the year 666/616? Or the date 6-(1/6)-6 a.d./600 ad? People who honestly believe this junk need to get a clue. There's also the fact that the date would come for some sooner than others, so unless there'd be a progressing end of the world following the line of places turning to midnight...the world doesn't/hasn't used the same calander all over anyway, so picking a date for the End of the World(tm) based off of one doesn't really work out well.

In short, the chance of the world ending on June 6th is as likely as on any other day.
 
The world was also supposed to end on 1/1/2000. No one even thinks about that now. It'll be the same with this. :p
 
World is not going to end on 6/6/06. I don't know where these people come up with this crap. Besides, 666 is the number the beast is supposed to mark people with.
