This is a sort of two-part topic.

1. What are your favorite anime dubs in general?

2. Do you have any specific English VAs you really like?

I'll start I suppose.

Favorite Dubs:
Hellsing Ultimate, yu Yu Hakusho

Favorite Voice-Actors:
Yuri Lowenthal - He is probably best known as Sasuke in Naruto but he is also Pip in Hellsing, Kevin in the third Xenosaga game and a ton of other roles.

Mary-Elizabeth McGlynn - She is the voice of the Major in Ghost in the Shell: SAC as well as Nuriko in Fushigi Yuugi.

Voice actor discussion isn't allowed. I don't know about this section however, which is why I am not reporting. Just thought I would tell you.

EDIT: As long as we do not dicuss Pokemon voice actors, we will be fine.

My favorite would be Dan Green, followed by Sean Schemmel. Then Vic Mig... and Marc Diraison. Funimation is really good, but I think a ton of great actors are put aside because the directors they have don't do them justice. 4kids VA are actually very good. But the directors aren't as good.

I like Dan Green, Sean Schemmel, Megan Hollingshead, Marc Thompson, and Wayne Grayson.

@Nikkolas: Yuri Lowenthal? Sweet... he also voices Ben in the Alien Force and Ultimate Alien series of the Ben 10 franchise.

My favorite anime dubs? Well... I don't really watch that much anime, but if I were to choose... probably Dragon Ball and DBZ, even though I haven't watched those in a LONG time. And Hamtaro, for obvious reasons...:awww: You cannot deny the cuteness of hamsters.

Yeah Yuri is really good as Ben I thought.

Truth. In fact Darren Dunstan as Pegasus in 4Kids' Yugioh dub is one of my favorite vocal performances ever in an anime.

My favorite dub would have to be Bleach, because when I discuss it, no one really goes against me. When disuccing yugioh and Pokemon dubs, I get bombarded with hate, which i usually handle easily.

I don't like anime dubs. Though I suppose the Cowboy Bebop one was decent.

There are some VAs I do like, though. Jamison Price, Kirk Thornton (who should stop letting people pigeonhole him into the old man character, he's so much more talented than that), Mari Devon...

And Scott McNeil. My goodness, I would give my mother's third kidney for a chance to meet that guy. He's crazy awesome. And I do mean crazy. Awesome.

The Code Geass dub is the best dubbed anime I've seen, and I have a theory for why this is so, followed by YuYu Hakusho's.

The best voice actor in Code Geass being Troy Baker, for his work as Schneizel el Britannia.

Vic Mignogna in his job as Edward in the Fullmetal Alchemist series is great. He has also been in a buttload of other animes too. I got him to sign my Ash cap.

Travis Willingham is also pretty good. Along with Dan Green, Johnny Yong Bosch, and Veronica Taylor (Talking about Slayers here, not Pokemon) are all good

I think JYB's best role was as Vash the Stampede in Trigun. After hearing his Ichigo and a bunch of other things I was so shocked at how great his Vash was.

I'm also kinda shocked no one has mentioned Mr. Steven Jay Blum yet. Ya know, Spike, Mugen, Vincent Valentine, Makoto Shishio...

Dan Green, Johnny Yong Bosch, Yuri Lowenthal, Doug Erholtz, and yeah Steven Jay Blum, that guy plays Orochimaru.

JYB is good, I will admit it. He can voice act as well as do live action, something most cannot do. Could you image Dan Green running around fighting minions?

Wasn't JYB also in an episode of Reno 911? Or was that another PR?

@Yusei I am sure you remember Zack

I agree that Yu-Yu-Hakusho is a great dub, and it's not just childhood nostalgia talking. However, the two movies, since they weren't dubbed by Funimation, are absolutely horrible. The Abridged Version of "The Poltergeist Report" on Youtube is actually more bearable in terms of voices.

Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood are great dubs, though Brotherhood has one or two new voices that I don't like really like (such as May's voice.)

And speaking of these two animes, I have to say Christopher Sabat is a very great voice actor. Unlike some voice actors, he creates a unique flair for each character he voices. If you hear Kuwabara from YYH, Vegeta from DBZ, and Armstrong from FMA, you won't mistake one for the other.

- Kat

JYB was the best as Ichigo. It sounded so much like him.

For some reason, I also like Christopher Sabat as Piccolo. And Sean Schemmel as Goku.

Dan Green as Dark Yugi, Knuckles, and Wayne Grayson as Joey.

I don't know off the top of my head which anime series he's done (though I know he has done some) but I'm a fan of Steven Blum. One of his most famous VA roles is as Wolverine in a number of different video games and Western animated series. He also voices several characters in Ben 10, notably Heat Blast and Vilgax.

Tara Strong and Hynden Walch also have long VA resumes and are great at what they do. They both have a great range of voices.

My favorites are Johnny Young Bosch, Vic Mignogna, Kirk Thornton, and Laura Bailey. Monica Rial's cool just cuz she's got such a weird voice and she did Hyatt in Excel Saga. Haha. And for anyone who doesn't know him, Kirk Thornton does a lot of stuff, but the ones I particularly like are Jade in Tales of the Abyss and Saitou in Rurouni Kenshin.

Heh...my likes are pretty standard. Lots of FUNimation VAs -- Vic Mignogna, JYB, Todd Haberkorn, Greg Ayers, Monica Rial, Lucy Christian...

Truth. In fact Darren Dunstan as Pegasus in 4Kids' Yugioh dub is one of my favorite vocal performances ever in an anime.

Oh my GOD, yes. Mmm, that voice still gives me the shivers. Dan Green as Yami Yugi and Eric Stuart as Seto Kaiba (repeat: I'm talking about as KAIBA, here, not his work as Brock or James) are two more of my favorite performances (though I like a lot of Dan's other work, as well).

Dubs I like? Well, I'm pretty easy to please. For all it's stupid writing, I rather liked the Yu-Gi-Oh dub back in the day ^^;; I think my favorite dub at this point, though, is Ookiku Furikabutte/Big Windup! by FUNimation.

I don't watch a lot of anime dubs, but I'm going with:
-Sarah Natochenny/Veronica Taylor (Ash Ketchum, Pokemon)
-Bill Rogers (Brock, Pokemon)
-Eric Stuart (same as above, as well as Seto Kaiba, Yu-Gi-Oh!)
-Dan Green (Yugi Muto, Yu-Gi-Oh!)
-Wayne Grayson (Joey Wheeler, Yu-Gi-Oh!)

Adding to the list above of the great NYC actors

Marc Diarson (4kids Zolo, Kalin 5Ds, Riley PKM)
Jason Griffith (Sonic)
Ted Lewis (Giovanni PKM, Ryo Bakura YGO, Minor roles)
Sean Schemmel (Goku, minor roles)
Marc Thompson (too many to list, Wolverine comes to mind)
