"Nice Combination!"

"It's Showtime!"

"Nice, Kojiro!"

"Lucky Number 7!"

"Nice Catch!"

"Let's Go!"

"Stop!"

"Dangerous" (I think I might have heard that)

"Goddamn!"

"Unbelieveable!"

OK...?

"Dangerous" is in Team Rocket's motto, as is "crisis."

I can't say much about it because I don't have the chance to watch the japanese version. I do find it amusing that they curse, though. That would never happen in the American version.

I LOVE Engrish. It sounds so cool coming from Japanese speakers. They make it sound cooler than when we natives speak it.

I loved Lilian's "Here we go!" phrase. I was ticked when the dub removed it.

And Melissa's Engrish is awesome too.

Heh, I think the closest they ever came to someone cussing in the dub, was in "Brave The Wave". It was during the scene when Ash got really angry at this friends, and then he said, "Shut up!!".

However, like you, I also can't comment on the topic of this thread, because I don't watch the Japanese version.

That is a little amusing to me when I watch the episode 18 subbed to find that out.

Kojirou's "Ladies and jari-boys" from the glutton Kabigon episode is one of the most amusing examples of Engrish in the series.

I know there was an episode where Team Rocket did a football version of their motto with a ton of Engrish football terms thrown around, but I can't remember which one. I think it was late Johto somewhere.
EDIT: T'was the Delibird episode. Great stuff.

Still, none of this can compare to the awesomeness that is the boxing priest monster from Sailor Moon.
"I AM A CHAMP LOVELY PUNCH!"

What number is the Kabigon episode??

I can't believe we've gone 9 posts without someone saying "I'm a winner!". Almost everything out of Musashi's mouth was hilarious in that episode.

And it's not like cursing is something common place, especially nowadays. I can't see anyone saying "Goddamn!" again.

You guys know the difference between Engrish and English, right?

Most of the ones in the original post, for example, are English. Not Engrish.

There was a part in the Orange Islands (I think the one with the ship full of ghosts) where there's a newspaper and one of the ads says "AFROSICK".

And come on, no one's said "Harley very question!" yet?

I guess they're indeed Japanese. Quite a no. of Japanese is similar to English. And I will argue that some are even similar to Putonghua and Cantonese. I supposed Japanese are very easy to be influenced by other languages, just like Hong Konger. In the Ancient Times, there were some Japanese scholars who had come to China to learn their civilization. (unfortunately, they are never the same now) And now English is common around the whole world.

BTW, what is Engrish, something similar to Chinglish?

True. Now pretty much everything out of Harley's mouth on the other hand...

He and Musashi definitely have the best usage of random English words in the show.

Also, one random English thing I always found amusing was when Lilian (I believe in the Gonbe's Debut Battle episode) was talking about the tough trials coordinators had gone through, and said "Very Sexy!"

I still love how "Glory Day" ends with the uplifting message that I should "believe myself".

BEAUTIFUL WONDERFUL I'M A WINNER!

Not /that/ Engrishy, but very random English from Musashi. xD

EDIT: D'aww, Rocket Girl beat me to it.

But have we forgotten what Lillian said in Gonbe's Contest Debut episode? ^///^;; Not to mention Nyasu's pitch for the Gold and Silver (heh) Pollocks? Though they don't find it offensive, so...

Beat again, halfway.

I need to read the whole thread before commenting. xDD;

I love this thread! The Engrish/poor English is so funny! After watching the first Jun episode, me and my sister kept repeating "badge case-uu" over and over again. It's cute when Satoshi says "Thank You".

In DP98, I think there's a joke based on Engrish when Team Rocket are blasting off, from what I can see from the subs. The episode is about Beroberuto and Kojiro says that something is "bero" the "beruto", "bero" meaning "below" and "beruto" meaning "belt". Don't quote me on that, that's just what I can tell from what the subs said, what I could hear and my very small knowledge of Japanese.

Melissa says "Let's on stage!" in the gym battle episode which makes no sense XD

"Oh my GODDDDDDDDDDD!!!!"

That man was so funny XD He was just filled with Engrish. I have a clip of that, but I dunno if I'm allowed to post it. It's not a full episode, just the clip
