When it comes to adapting simple basic baking recipes and making them better, I am your man. I can turn plain and simple boring recipes to brilliant master pieces.

Periodically I shall post new adaptations as and when I do them myself.

This adaptation sounds so simple, but makes such a big impact.

Get any basic chocolate cup cake recipe and make is as per quoted. I personally believe good quality cocoa powder makes all the difference so I only use green and blacks. I tend to use 50% more cocoa powder than stated.

Half fill your cases and then get some dark 70% cocoa chocolate. using a knife saw a square block in half and cover in nutella and place in the middle. Fill the rest of the cases full and put in the oven.

To make the even tastier make some frosting.

Use 100g of that same dark chocolate and melt in the microave for 1min 30 secs. Stir halfway and allow to cool. Then beat 140g of butter and 140g icing sugar together to fluffy and stir in the chocolate and then apply to the cup cakes.

When I ate mine after lunch, it left me with such a satisfied feeling. It was blissfull.

So its like melt and mix cooking where you leave big chunks? I made an amazing batch of brownies where half of it was chocolate blocks.... I was a little unsure about how well it would turn out but it surprisingly ended up being pretty delicious.

Oh, you forgot to mention the red food coloring. Every chocolate cupcake tastes better as a red velvet. :D

That would make it look so damn good. I was also thinking of using blackcurrent yoghurt instead of plain as it may have added more flavour to it. I wanted to see what it was like first, and I think that flavoured yoghurt would not go well and gove off too many different flavours.

Oooh, blackcurrant sounds delicious! It would add so much depth to the chocolate flavor. Tell me how it comes out if you ever make these cupcakes.

I agree about the red velvet. As much as I love regular chocolate cake, there really is something unbelievably amazing about red velvet cake, even if it is just chocolate cake dyed red. I don't know if it's all in my head or what, but it tastes different from regular chocolate cake and it's just really delicious.

Now they are all gone :(

If anoyone wants to give the ingredients, I can make you some, Say.... 60/40 to me? You get the ingredients I dont have, I make them and we can make them with a red velvet this time!

If you are lucky, I may let you lick the spoon :p

Blackcurrant can have quite a strong flavor so it would be interesting to see how it would work with such rich chocolate.... the only fruit I've ever done with chocolate is strawberries (yes, I'm very boring).

Black currant and dark chocolate. Mmm.
Or instead of black currant, cherry?

I think it would work in cake form with more bitter/semisweet chocolate.
