What would you like to see in a possible epilogue? This is not a thread about the feasibility of an epilogue, or if one will happen, just what you want to happen.

Ash goes back to Kanto to become a Fronteir Brain, and faces off against Gary, wins, then Brock, wins, then Sam Oak, and loses.

Ash becomes a Pokemon master. He walks off into the sunset with Pikachu and a select few of his Pokemon by his side, ready to start a new adventure (but that adventure won't be shown).

Reminds me of Judai's epilogue, except Ash has to lose to a better master (Oak perhaps).

Ash marries Misty! lol Oh and of course Brock, Dawn,May,and Max acheiving their goals shown in some possible way

I'm about to destroy whatever reputation I've built for myself here in the past two months, but what the fuck, here we go:

Interior, morning, on a young man's bedroom. It is, literally, filled with Pokémon paraphernalia. You cannot see the walls, you cannot see the top of his desk or his dressers. The majority of the Pokémon on display are Water types. There is clearly a child sleeping soundly beneath the Kyogre pattern bedspread.

(You know where this is going.)

The camera pans over to a darling little Chingling clock. How cute. It reads 11:something something. It doesn't matter. The point is, said child has clearly overslept.

Focus on the top of the door, which is already slightly ajar, as it is pushed open. Anyone who has a cat knows what this looks like. A pause, and we hear the sound of a certain ear twitching. It's a familiar noise.

Back to the foot of the bed, and we see our beloved yellow friend hop up and give a little poke to the pile of person-and-blanket. It's clear, however, that it's been some time since the last time we saw this creature. A little bigger, a little scruffier, a little more worldly. It's in his eyes. "Pika?" he asks.

The child bolts, and we get our first good look at him. He is clearly a Ketchum, though he has his mother's red hair. He shouts some nonsensical jibberish about oversleeping and sweeps Pikachu up and spread some of the blame around, getting himself a Thundershock for his troubles.

Cut to the downstairs, where we get some establishing shots of trophies in their cases—and there are many of them—before coming back to the kitchen, where a familiar redheaded gym leader—she's older, and her hair is longer than you might recall, but it's still Misty—is making lunch with the assistance of her Azumarill. A Spheal rolls in and out of frame, and the microwave is clearly a Rotom. The sliding door is open, and from outside we hear any number of cries, both familiar and non.

It's lunchtime for the Champion's horde, as well, but we don't quite get a good shot of Ash just yet.

The young Ketchum comes barreling down the stairs, half-dressed, Pikachu trailing close behind. He grabs the sandwich Misty's just made, belts a quick "Byemombyedadloveyou!" before he's out the door. His father grabs him by the collar before he can run off, however, and without a word Ash takes off his hat (it's whichever one he was wearing for the current series, not the first hat) and puts it on his son's head.

"Perfect."

They share a moment and a smile, but the kid bolts again, shouting his thanks as he bikes away. You know it your heart he's headed to Gary Oak's lab, intending to get a Squirtle—for the sake of echoes of his father, as well as his mother's influence—but you also know he won't be getting that Squirtle.

Hold on Ash's face as he watches his son go off to start his own journey, while behind him dozens, perhaps hundreds of Pokémon are chowing down happily. It's a big fucking yard. Misty joins him, and for the first time in the series we see two people share some actual physical fucking affection as she puts her arms around him.

"Why'd we let him sleep in so late, on today of all days?" she asks.

"Are you kidding? Oversleeping was the best thing that ever happened to me." Obviously, at this moment Pikachu hops up onto his shoulder.

Another pause, just enough to soak in the saccharine domesticity. These are happy people.

"How long do you give him before he wrecks some poor girl's bike?" asks his mom.

"An hour, tops."

So you heard it here first. I'm a filthy fucking Pokéshipper.

Cool stuff that's too big to quote but is still cool as fuck

You know I had one of these, but then I changed it to exclude Ash.

I mean the world is a big place, and I see Ash still doing that even when he's an adult. He's basically like Goku, maybe eventually getting a wife and kid in his home region (yes Misty because it's logical in a SERIES finale, THE END FOREVER), but then bolting after a month or two to go fight in Baljato or wherever League.

Just the kind of guy he is.

After traveling from (Insert a future region here) Ash goes to an unnamed region with just Pikachu and the anime abruptly ends there. They may or may not show the fates of all the main characters and what they are doing now that Ash has touched all their lives in some way.

That is, verbatim, what was going though my head as I wrote that.

But yeah, I agree. I just see Ash making sure he's there on that day, because whatever ship you ship (there's a yo dawg there...), ultimately I think any ending would be about Ash and his son.

And I don't know why, but I really, really like Baljato.

Okay. Here we go. "Yo dawg, I heard you like love, so I put some boys with your girls so you can ship while you ship."

Yeah. I'm good with that.

Lol, you called it. I knew where you were going at the "water Pokemon" part.

Cheesy as it may be, I rather enjoyed it. Nothing overly shippy, but as Duckgon said I would have excluded Ash. I would just make him a recognizable silhouette of some sort, while Misty ( or whoever the hell) mentions his name to her son/daughter "your father."

And don't worry, I'm somewhat of a Pokeshipper myself though that's diminished for obvious reasons.

You know, for the most part, that actually sounds pretty good. Whether Misty, though, or one of the others... I'm not sure. It sounds like a poetic end to the series, though (hopefully not something that comes too soon, of course). I also wouldn't mind if that were shown in a movie, rather than the television series. It'd be a much grander scene with the richer color palette and detail that a theatrical budget lends to Pokemon.

One thing you're missing, though. Buneary. There's no way she's going to let Pikachu get away, lol. She should be in the scene somewhere.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Ash will go off on another adventure that never gets told.

Ash as a Pokemon master, running a Pokemon training dojo, having told his best students over three or four years how he became "Master Ash"

I think it will have Misty and that one girl from Mewtwo Strikes Back walking with Misty's daughter through a field and then they run across Pikachu underneath a tree.

Oh, you mean for real?

Eh, I guess I can see Ash becoming a Frontier Brain.

Eh, I guess I can see Ash becoming a Frontier Brain.

With a flying structure of his own, no doubt . Seriously, where do all these guys get their massive, flying bases anyway? How do they not rule the world, with such things?

Although Ash could already be a Frontier Brain right now, had he accepted the position. I'm not sure they'd end the series with something like that, which he could've had much earlier in the series had he wanted. Who's ranked "higher", on the anime scale, though? Would it go Elite 4, then Frontier Brains, and finally the Champion ranking higher than any of them?

considering how big of a "harem" Ash has it's kinda hard to pick out one girl for him so i say to heck with that being involved in his closure.

I say have him confront and catch Ho-oh or at least have an intense battle with the bird, that's my epilogue thoery.

Okay, to make all the shippers happy, Ash will become a polygamist.

Let's not go there, I've seen enough animes where the main character ends up with multiple brides by the ending...

Answer me this why does Ash have to end up with a girl when the series is over? I mean jeez this is a show about animals with super powers, not relationships, sure we might get suddle moments here and there between Ash and all the girl's he's met over his lifetime but that's all that their is, nothing major.

I personally think it would be interesting to see Ash with a daughter.
