so i have been tryign ot ev train my pokemon and i might not understand it yet. so far i have a lvl 75 aggron with maxed defense capabilities and a salamence that is split with atk and speed at lvl 60. but the part i dont understand is this at lvl 75 my aggon got the effort ribbon ( all ev's are acquired) and the same for my lvl 60 salamence, but i never got a big stat boost its all be + 4 or 4 +7 was the highest i got for aggron,

then wanting to ev train my feraligatr in atk and hp i only got + 3 for atk but a +9 for hp i dont know if what im doing is 100% correct can anyone please help me?

First of all, I'm sure this goes in the Battling area instead.

Second of all, to answer your question, when your Pokemon is EV trained, all that happens is that it gains stats a little quicker when it levels up. There is no actual instant bonus when you get all 510 EV's.

EV training will only result in huge stat boosts when you gain a huge amount of EV's in one level.

So, let's say your Aggron is at level 75 with 0 EV's and 31 IV's in Attack (assuming a neutral nature). Then it should have an attack stat of 193. If, in the course of Aggron being in Level 75, you manage to raise its attack EV to 200, the new stat upon gaining a level will be 233, representing a change of +40, which is probably the huge increase you're looking for.

What you're thinking of is "EV grinding". In order to do this, you want to repeatedly defeat a certain Pokemon that has a really low experience-to-EV ratio. An example of this for your Attack EV's is Spinarak (54 to 1).

If you want to try this for yourself, feed your Aggron eleven Qualot Berries to reset its Defense EV, and go on a rampage attacking Kakuna, Silcoons/Cascoons, and Metapods, which have an even lower experience-to-EV ratio (36 to 1 for Defense). Once your Aggron levels up, its Defense stat should jump dramatically.

*edit* About your Feraligator, if you're trying to boost the Attack EV to get it up to abnormally high levels, keep attacking those Spinaraks. Although, if you're doing this in Gold and Silver, it won't work as nicely, because in Gold and Silver, the EV yields are simply the base stats of the Pokemon, not some arbitrarily chosen number. (It does work in HGSS, though.)

Well, you may want to ask the question in here. Secondly, the EV's are not deteremined by the number your stats go up by.
Also, you could use this to get a better understanding of EV's
