Looks like we have another event hot on the heels of Adventure Week, the water festival! This event will last from June 7th at 1:00 PDT until June 21st at 1:00 PDT. Here is a list of the bonuses that will be available, and there's a lot of them!
  • Water-type Pokémon such as Magikarp and Wailmer will appear more frequently in the wild
  • Shiny Shellder has been announced to be available in the game
  • Field Research tasks will highlight Water-type Pokémon
  • 3× Stardust for catching Water-type Pokémon
  • 2k eggs will hatch Water-type Pokémon more frequently and will give out double candy and stardust upon hatching!
  • Raid Battles will also feature Water-type Pokémon, including Kyogre, which is also confirmed to have a shiny form!

Personally I'm really hoping I can get a good Kyogre. It's one of the best Pokemon in the game, and I only have 1. Hopefully the boxes will have raid passes in them!

It’s time to make a splash! Our Water Festival returns June 7 at 1:00 p.m. PDT, with Water-type Pokémon such as Magikarp and Wailmer appearing more frequently in the wild. Some lucky Trainers may even encounter a rare Shiny Shellder for the very first time during the event! Plus, enjoy Field Research tasks highlighting Water-type Pokémon until June 21 at 1:00 p.m. PDT.

Alongside increased appearance of Water-type Pokémon appearing all over the world, you’ll be able to earn 3× Stardust for catching Water-type Pokémon. Plus, 2 km Eggs will hatch exciting Pokémon such as Totodile, Mudkip, and Corphish—earn Double Candy and Stardust for every Egg hatched!

Raid Battles will also feature powerful Water-type Pokémon for the duration of the celebration, including the exciting return of the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre. And, if you challenge Kyogre during the event and come out victorious, there is a chance you’ll encounter its Shiny form!

So Trainers, dive on in to this water-focused event before it ends on June 21!

Bah. I just hatched three eggs about 30 minutes before this started. Oh well. Looking forward to hopefully filling in the gaps I'm missing with Water types.
 
GOALS:

>Grind out Stardust. This is the main deal for me. I've had a big shortage of it recently, so taking advantage of the increased Water spawns that will yield triple Stardust will most certainly help.
I only have one Star Piece left and may pop it early in my first grinding session to maximize the first half-hour; the quicker I get the dust, the better!
>Do some Kyogre Raids and power up one in the end, hopefully also getting a Shiny. My plan for this is 3 Kyogre per 2 days, daily Raid Passes and a Premium Raid Pass from the collector bonus from Gyms, until I get a Shiny. If I'm lucky and it happens sooner, I'll only stick to the daily Passes. By the time Kyogre is gone, depending on how much Stardust and Candy I might have, Ι plan to power up a second one to at least Level 30.
>Hopefully get the brand new Shiny Shellder as well as more Magikarp/Wailmer. I won't be going out of my way for this, grinding and raiding have priority. But this still leaves enough room for potential shinies.

Couldn't do any real prepwork as it was announced too soon. I have Ultra Balls and Golden Razz/Pinap Berries always stocked, however. Also set up my battle parties VS Kyogre.
 
This event has gotten me Gyarados and Wailord so Im fairly satisfied. I even got a Shiny Magikarp, though sadly I dont think I'll get to evolve it at this point before the event ends even though I am catching every Magikarp I happen to see and collecting Candy. I keep hoping to be lucky enough for another shiny but it hasnt happened. Oh well.
 
The event has been pretty good for me, I have most of the Water-types I was missing (bar region exclusive ones), I just need to walk with the Feebas and also pick up another King's Rock for Politoed. I think I'm short for Ludicolo too, but I can buddy with Lombre later. Other than that I'm all watered out for now.

I'll be happy when I can hatch eggs that aren't just Squirtle, Mudkip and Shellder :)
 
I'm done with registers long ago but am now stocking up on Candy for all of them for future use. Even Magikarp has over 4000 Candy now so I don't really have to worry about future evolutions.
And of course I'm also grinding up the Stardust.

Shiny-wise I got Kyogre and 2 Shellder which is good :D
 
Event is over.

Didn't get anything notable since my last post but 3 shinies and a lot of Stardust (some of which already saw use) is still worth it :D I had lots of fun even though it was tiring.
Onwards to the era of friendship, trading and Regice! :D
