I was incredibly desperate to replay Pearl back in the day, so much so that I started a new save file and overwrote all of my old Pokémon that were sitting in that file. That included most of my old Pokémon that I brought over from gen 3. I still regret it to this day.

Has anyone else regretted starting over in a Pokémon game? :'D
 
Yes when I restarted FireRed in order to get Raikou, but it wasn't really a disaster, just a waste of time since I ended up figuring out how to use a GameShark just a few weeks later. I had already transferred my best Pokemon from the old save file to other games by that point anyway.
 
Oh, definitely. I restarted Platinum and then realized I hadn't bothered to transfer my legendary Pokemon from the last save file out. Awkward...
