Ever seen Ikue actually doing Pikachu's voice?

Hmm. Interesting. But the pitch seems a bit higher than it is now, suggesting that this was from earlier in the history of the anime. Casual searching seems to indicate that is the case, this particular show having been broadcast on July 13, 1999.
 
...I literally jumped back from my computer in utter shock upon hearing her do Pikachu's voice. It just feels so... strange to hear something so associated with you-know-what come out of her mouth.

Her natural voice seems to sound younger than what her age shows...

Well, it may not in fact be her natural voice. Then again, the natural voice of some of the voice actors change over time. Matsumoto Rica and Inuyama Inuko sound entirely too much like their characters.

It sounds oddly familiar though. Possibly because she's played a few human CotDs before.

I wonder how she sounds like now, after nearly 10 years of playing the part.
 
Seen her do the voice before- seen that clip before! xD And it's still TOO CUTE.
 
I have always wanted to see her do Pikachu's voice! It really does look weird to see Pikachu's voice coming out of her mouth. But so cute!
 
That's one reason I like watching raws...the young Japanese female VAs have such darn cute voices. Seriously. :-D
 
I have to agree. It is a bit weird that Pikachu's voice comes out of her mouth. =/

Now I want to see some of the weirder Pokémon voices coming out of people. Let's see...

Pidgeot, Utsubot, Hitodeman, Bayleef, Sonans, Ohsubame, Sabonea, Heigani, and Sohnano would all be a little weird for me.
 
Pikachu would have a really ugly low voice by now if Ikue were male. :p Or they'd be changing its voice every two or three years.

I wanna see Masukippa's seiyuu do that voice.
 
Anyone have videos of other seiyuus in person? I'm interested in hearing Inuko Inuyama's normal voice.

Inuko Inuyama doesn't have a normal voice, or otherwise doesn't speak with it, at least according to the Japanese Wikipedia.

非常に広い声色を持ち、役柄によっては全く普通の女性声になったりもするが、ラジオ出演の際はほとんどニャースのような声で通す。

She has an extremely wide range, and does perform with a completely normal voice as required by the role, however on radio she almost always speaks with a Nyarth-type voice.
