I have decided to do a thread which contains every single pokemon's appearance, similar to Serebii.net's Animedex, but mine will include the moves they used in their appearances, what they actually did in the episode, etc. I will do this each time I watch an episode, so that it is easier. I will update frequently with each episode's pokemon appearance, along with further details. Wish me luck!

As this list gets more and more updated, it will be much harder to find a pokemon. To help out, press down CRTL and F, and type in the number of the pokemon (#---) and the full English name.

I'm not going to stop you from doing this, but doesn't Bulbapedia already do this?

No. All it says is major appearances for pokemon, and doesn't say every episode it appears, and neither it or Serebii.net say what it does in the episode and what moves they use.

My mistake, then by all means do. I thought Bulbapedia had all the moves the main character's pokemon used, but a second look shows only the travelers' (Ash and such) pokemons' moves.

Here's my EP001 stuff. I watched the episode a few days ago, so I remember most of the pokemon that appeared in it.

Trainer’s Gengar
Simply battles Nidorino and Onix, similar to the intro from Red, FireRed and LeafGreen. Uses the move Hypnosis on Nidorino.

Trainer's Nidorino
Simply battles Gengar, and seems to be owned by Bruno. Doesn’t use any moves, and is later sent out for Onix to come in.

Trainer's Onix
Battles Gengar after replacing, and is probably owned by Bruno. Also doesn’t use any moves.

Bulbasaur (Fantasy)
Appears in a fantasy of Ash’s.

Squirtle (Fantasy)
Appears in a fantasy of Ash’s.

Charmander (Fantasy)
Appears in a fantasy of Ash’s.

Wild Dodrio
Stands on top of someone’s house, waking everyone up. Probably based on a rooster’s call in the morning.

Ash's Pikachu
The only starter pokemon that was avalible at the time. Is angry and cruel at the start of the episode (laughing at Ash’s unability to catch a Pidgey), but is loyal by the time it electrocutes a flock of Spearow. Uses Thundershock.

Wild Pidgey
A few wild Pidgey appear, I don’t know if it’s the same one all the times. But it uses Gust. The first one flies away, and the second one uses Gust after Ash cruely traps it in his shirt.

Wild Rattata
A Rattata appears, trying to find food in Ash’s backpack.

Wild Spearow
Ash throws a rock at one, making it mad. It and the whole flock of Spearow go mad, causing Pikachu to electrocute them at the end of the episode. One of them uses Peck.

Wild Sandshrew
They watch as Ash and Pikachu are harrassed by Spearow.

Wild Mankey
They watch as Ash and Pikachu are harrassed by Spearow.

Wild Magikarp
A Magikarp swims through the river as Ash and Pikachu jump in.

Wild Gyarados
Ash and Pikachu find one as they’re swimming.

Wild Ho-Oh
Ash sees one flying above a rainbow. He has no idea it is a Ho-Oh. Note that this is the first appearance of a Generation II pokemon.

Nice! I wanted to do something like this too but I'm so lazy that I might never actually do it XD so I'm happy to see someone else do it
Hope you'll continue!

Episode 2 added Meowth, Koffing, Ekans, Goldeen, and Caterpie.
The third put in Pidgeotto, Metapod and Beedrill.
The fourth added Weedle, Pinsir, Kakuna and Butterfree.
The fifth added Geodude and Onix.

That's all correct, isn't it?

Yeppers. I've got the time, so I'll update with detailed Episode 2 appearances.

Make sure you include Porygon's 1 second cameo apperance in either anime or movies. ShoPro have to showcase it somehow without further hurting their image, and Game Freak doesn't stop making his evolutions.

I will. Even cameos count as appearances, though I won't include Porygon in movie cameos, I'll just call it a cameo in that one minute short. If you get what I mean. Anyway, here's my EP002 stuff:

Ash's Pikachu
Starts off in the episode WEAK and TIRED and HALF-DEAD. Ends up as fit as a fiddle, with a lightbulb strapped to its head, and along with all the other Pikachu, they shock Team Rocket so much Koffing EXPLODES!!! Also, it sighs in anger when Ash starts to capture Caterpie without his trusty yellow mouse. Grr. Uses ThunderShock.

Meowth
Meowth debuts along with its two leaders; a camp man, and a bitchy lady who relies on puns like ‘pretty pathetic’. Meowth doesn’t do much.

Chansey
Works alongside Nurse Joy. Without these Chansey, I doubt Pikachu would of survived. *sniff*

Jessie's Ekans
Doesn’t do much, but scares off some wimpy Pidgey and Rattata. Uses Bite.

James’ Koffing
Uses Smog and Smokescreen, which is basically the same move. Also, it blows up. But survives it. Yeah.

Misty's Goldeen
Gets released from the pokeball, splashing about as a try to defeat Team Rocket.

PokeCenter's Pikachu
They all run on this thing like a hamster wheel, charging up power to start the lights, and keeping the ill pokemon from dying.

PokeCenter's Pidgey
Fights Team Rocket, but gets scared by Ekans.

PokeCenter's Rattata
Fights Team Rocket, but gets scared by Ekans.

Wild Caterpie
Ash sets his eyes on one at the end of the episode. Don’t spoil what happens!

Is it necessary to include every episode a Pokémon appears in? Pika's in EVERY SINGLE one; Meowth, all but the first.

No spoiler. Everyone already knows

Episode 6 - Zubat, Clefairy, Paras, Sandshrew, Staryu, Clefable
Episode 7 - Seel, Starmie
Episode 8 - only Sandshrew, I think
Episode 9 - Weepinbell, Graveler, Cubone

Misty's Goldeen
Gets released from the pokeball, splashing about as a try to defeat Team Rocket.

As I said before, I don't like how people randomly decided it's Misty's Goldeen
Misty obviously knew very well that Goldeen can't battle outside water, so why would she use it? Misty told Ash to start using the Pokémon Center Pokéballs and fight with these Pokémon - I think it makes sense to think Misty did the same, picked up a random Pokéball and it was Goldeen
Just because we later find out Misty has a Goldeen of her own, doesn'r necessarily means this Goldeen is the same one...
I don't know, in my opinion it's NOT Misty's Goldeen but the PC's one... but I guess people will forever argue about it XD I wonder if maybe that Japanese book about the early eps that Dogasu have says anything about it...

I realise that it may indeed be the PC's, but for now, we have to say it's Misty's.

EDIT: Anyway, here's my EP003 stuff.

Ash’s Pikachu
Turns out it’s a great friend of Misty’s (to Ash’s anger), and it calms Caterpie down so it won’t commit suicide. Also, it has sludge splurted onto its face. Lol. Doesn’t use Thundershock. For once.

Ash's Caterpie
Of course, it gets captured at the start of the episode. As we all know, Misty fucking hates bugs, and after one rapes you in your sleep, who would? Anyway, suffers from depression, though by the time it attempts to fight Pidgeotto, it’s fine. Oh, also, it evolves. Uses String Shot.

Ash's Pidgeotto
Swoops down to eat a worm, but typical Ash disturbs it and catches it. Also, it fails at battling Team Rocket. Uses Gust and Peck.

Meowth
Meowth, that’s right! Doesn’t do much of importance, apart from actually trying to battle Caterpie with Fury Swipes.

Jessie's Ekans
Uses Dig when Pidgeotto battles it, but goes down with String Shot just like Koffing.

James' Koffing
Gets Sludge on Pikachu’s eyes. Also, it goes down with String Shot.

Ash's Metapod
Evolves into Metapod when Misty touches it. D’aww. I don’t know how the poor Caterpie breathes inside that cocoon, but let’s not think about scientific things. After all, this IS pokemon.

Wild Beedrill
Buzzes past Misty, and she gets scared. A nice little foreshadowing of the events of next episode.
