Seriously, villainous teams are the best part about Pokemon since they can give the games story to entertain the players. But rather than using them to create a somewhat solid plot for each series (OS, AG, DP and BW), the writers of the Anime make them take a backseat for the most part with little to no affect on the overall show. It's just Jessie, James and Meowth doing their thing for the most part.
You all know what I mean: Team Aqua and Magma's weak rivalry and story and Team Galactic's limited (but awesome) appearances. I can't say for sure about Team Plasma yet but they could've had an awesome rivalry with Team Rocket if they appeared more often prior to Castelia City.
If the writers were better, they'd use the Evil Teams to give the series more substance in the plot. I'm not expecting great villains like Freeza or other great bad guys but I am expecting effort.
