Evolutionary Stones are TOO Easy to Find

Has any one noticed how easy it is to amass a small horde of evolutionary stones? I've probably dug up at least 50 Water Stones, and my Pachirisu has picks Dusk, Shiny, and Dawn Stones like theres no tomorrow.

As easy as this has made my game, it is also a disappointment. I miss the days have having to hunt down Moon Stones and preserve them for the exact right Pokemon. Sure, the normal Water, Leaf, Fire, and Thunder Stones were being sold at the store, but the cool ones, Moon and Sun, were so hard to find (at least for me)

Does anyone else share this feeling?

I sure don't feel that way. Then again, I like being able to evolve my pokemon without going through motions that are either annoyingly difficult and time-consuming, like the whole shard hunting/trading thing in RSE, or non-entertaining busywork, like stopping by Mt. Moon once a week in GSC. I especially like being able to evolve as many pokemon as I want to instead of having to ration out the precious few stones of a certain type you got, which was a problem with the moon stones in RBY and the "main" elemental stones in GSC.

I can only imagine how much more annoyed I'd be with finding evo stones pre-DP if I ever actually used stone evos for anything except Pokedex entries. Really now, I'd rather use my in-game time doing things like having magical creatures beat each other up. Things that are actually, you know, fun. In short, I fully support and endorse streamlining mundane things like obtaining evo stones so that you have more time for the better things in the game.

I like how there's more. I don't have many friends I can trade with on older gen games (no GBC or GBA link cable), so I can't get stones.

Hooray for abundant stones in DP.

At first I was kind of irritated because I had simply too many stones to use. Then I realized I could sell them for money so I wouldn't have to battle so much to replenish my supply. I really appreciate it now after playing Silver version again and being like, "Grah! The only way to get more than one of each (excluding moon stones) is Mystery Gift or trading!"

I know what you mean. When powerlevelling something at Route 228, I bring my Teddiursa army to pick up Rare candies to speed up the process, and end up with about 20 of each stone when I'm done. =_=

More stone means more Pokemon can evolve. I dont like the feeling to have to choose between either evolving Clefairy or Skitty.

60+ Fire Stones excluding ones I've used. Maybe three or four Water Stones.

Evolutionary stones are like weapons. You'd rather have one and not need it, than need one and not have it.

The only thing I don't like about extra evo-stones is this: If you have like, 20 extra moon stones (which I used to), you might think "Hey! These are kinda rare, I can sell them for a bunch of a lot of money!" Then the clerk says those heart-breaking words: "20 Moon Stones? I can pay you ZERO P. Is that O.K.?"

:bheart:

I'm going to go with Aeshaettr (how does one get an ash on this forum? - excellent choice of username, btw) on this one. I'd sooner have many evolutionary stones, then none when I needed one.

I agree with what most others have said. I always hated the heartbreak of the Metal generation of having to pick and choose what Pokemon to evolve, because you would only ever get one stone (And I played on a Super Game Boy and didn't know anyone else who played Pokemon games to trade with, anyway - it was NEVER popular at my school, not even during the fad era). It's so much better to have a lot of them so you can evolve as many Pokemon as you like - heaven knows I've needed it in situations like when I realized a baby Togepi I just hatched had much better IVs than the Togekiss I'd been raising XD

Dont worry. You'll have plenty soon. My lvl100 Linoone picked up like more than 100 Shiny Stones, Dusk Stones and Dawn Stones. And the underground really helps in stacking Fire, Water, Leaf, Moon and Sun Stones. Oh yes, you can Covet/Thief/Switcheroo Oval Stones from wild Chanseys too.

That, however, implies that you have the patience to level something you may or may not use for competitive battling to level 100. I know I've never even had the patience to raise anything to level 70, let alone 100. And all I ever seem to find in the Underground are Sun Stones, though I've recently found a few Thunderstones. But I have the hardest luck finding Stones Underground anyway -- the only Water Stone I've got, I got in a trade. But then again, I do like the somewhat greater abundance of Stones in D/P -- choosing pokemon to use Stones on was not a favorite thing of mine in Yellow or Crystal.

Since there's unlimited bag space, I don't see why you guys are complaining about gainning too many items.

Also, I remember in GSC that there was only a single stone of each type (aside from Moon and Sun Stones) in the entire game. I wasted my only fire stone on my first Arcanine and I couldn't evolve my second. This was compounded by not having anyone to trade an extra fire stone with. So I was stuck with an Arcanine without Crunch and a Lvl 50 Growlithe with Crunch but unable to evolve to get Extremespeed.

So yeah, I'm rather glad with my 50+ water stones.

Alt + 101010 for upper case, Alt + 0230 for lower case.

I'm guessing it's sort of cheating to use the Emerald cheating glitch to make 16 Lv. 100 Linoones for my Diamond version isn't it? I can never get enough Dusk Stones.

Hold down the Alt key and press the numbers in order, when you release the Alt key, the symbol you wanted should appear.
