They had been called many names before; Demons. Angels. Gods and Seraphs. Yes, under many aliases and titles they lived and operated in their daily lives. However, despite all of their titles; no matter the acrimony or praise, they had always known themselves to be one thing:
The Children of the Ex Machina.
The Children of the Ex Machina possessed blood passed down from generations; linking them to a bond closer than siblings. They possessed abilities that linked them to a higher existence; their very lineage setting a course for transcended existence. They were strong, capable, superhuman...
Yet, they were weak.
For you see, the Children of the Ex Machina were just as your average human; albeit, much more capable. They did not do battle themselves. No, these great beings relied on much more powerful; extensively more mysterious entities to deal with their bouts.
The Deus; creatures of the Forbidden Realm with powers that transcended all understanding, whose background varied in number as the stars in space. The Deus are sworn to follow their master's orders to the very end. Many of the Deus are loyal and kind; following this ingrained need to fulfill their master's wishes. Others were not as willing. Their personalities, abilities, levels of power, and all else completely varied.
The Children of the Ex Machina all lived among one another as siblings; peaceful and blissfully unaware of the suffering of mortal coils. Each held different views, but lived happily under the same sky.
It was only when they grew aware of their conflicting views that warfare broke out. For you see, not even beings transcending man themselves could deny the temptation of absolute power and dominance. They fought for the top, never stopping or faltering.
For over 5,000 years; this had been the cycle.
Now, the power of the Ex Machina has become a sport. Those with the power of the Ex Machina compete against one another in underground contests. These contests were formed and funded by hundreds of shadowy organizations; unknown even the the highest of participants.
Now, as of today; those who have the power of the Children of the Ex Machina were known by a much more colloquial term.
Summoners.
There have been multiple attempts to sabotage the game of Ex Machina, all failing. However, there is a new disturbance in the game that will threaten not only the stability of the sport; but the lives of the Summoners. All marked with the brand of the Ex Machina are threatened by this mysterious force.
How will you deal with this threat? Where do you stand in the world of Summoners?

Gameplay
Welcome to the world of Ex Machina! In this RP, you play as a special being called a Summoner; born of the blood of the mighty entity known as Ex Machina. The Summoners all possess the same ability; the ability to contract and use the power of the Deus; powerful creatures with abilities that transcend all understanding. The Deus are under the command of a Summoner.
While in this RP, your character starts off with just a single Deus summon. Over time, as the RP goes on; the GM(s) may let you encounter and possibly contract other Unmarked Deus; whether it is by mentioning or by the GM's own will. Your character's Deus and any Deus encountered will be added to the Deus Encyclopedia in the start-up thread. Every Deus starts off at Rank 5; the lowest of Ranks. Until points are awarded at the end of each day for varieties of reasons, their points cannot be upgraded beforehand.
The environment of Ex Machina is capable of being explored fully.
It is always good to remember that the Deus, themselves, are the ones who are fighting. However, if two Summoners wish to fight one another in hand to hand combat; then it is allowed.

Map
The lands of the Ex Machina game consist of a large archipelago located on a distant ocean. These areas are completely accessible.
Map Locations
- Arcadia Mainlands: The largest island in all of the archipelago. The mainlands are the central business area of all of the dealings of the islands. Here, the people live in their most copious distribution. In the very center of the mainlands lies the capital city; where the Prime Minister watches over the archipelago with his vast political power.
- Lachleran Exodus: An island far off of the coast of the mainland. Restricted to most civilians, not many have seen the island's contents. Many believe it to be a hell blocked by the government for the populace's protection. However, many cynics believe there is something more to it.
- Novi Island: A small island off the coast of the mainland. The majority of the island itself has become a product of steel mill work; most of the people there working in factories. The ground, rich with the natural minerals of the earth, provides more than enough resources for the island's shipment of minerals. It also provides a great spot for mining.
- Yuletia Island: An island once connected to the mainland, having broken off and moved over the past thousand years. The environment is completely uninhabited; only serving as a resting place for a mighty warrior in history.
- Marya Island: An island to the east of Yuletia. It sports a warm and "perfect" climate all year round, making it a very good tourist attraction.
- Taejin Palisades: A large plains, plagued by almost everlasting rain. Many call the island "gloomy" or "unsatisfactory", but those with enough sense understand the hidden forces the island stores.
- Mt. Solahknir: A large island filled with over a dozen volcanoes. The highest, most powerful is named after the island itself.
- Zena Mountains: A circular mountain landscape that reaches the highest elevation in the land. Within the center of the mountains lies the Apex.
- Raijin Islands: Islands constantly storming with torrential weather. The terrain is slick and watery due to the abundance of hurricanes. The island is completely uninhabitable to humans due to the intense weather.
- Juvian Islands: Cragged, rough islands where much mining is done. However, many dread the farthest parts of the islands; as the faint sounds of haunting wails can be heard throughout the land.
- Rakuya Islands: The oldest of the islands. The Rakuya islands hold beaches and resorts that attract many to its spot for vacation. However, it is also paired with the largely uninhabitable Southern Rakuya; a wasteland of dead plants and wildly untamed animal life.
- Lilica Islands: The newest of islands discovered, the Lilica is a wonderous island of pure obsidian mineral. The scientists of the mainlands often come to observe and research the peculiar islands.
- Ushumgal Arcticlands: The coldest of the islands of the archipelago; with the weather dropping to -98 degrees F during the night. Staying at an average of -30 degrees F, no time of day is safe.
- Kilik Forest: A large forestry ecosystem blocked off to preserve its wildlife by the government. Untouched for over 8,000 years; the people of the mainlands could only imagine the number of things lying and lurking within its depths.

Rules
- Follow all BMGf rules. Including the more obvious ones like spamming or flaming.
- Respect your fellow RPers. We are all here to have fun; don't belittle someone if they are doing worse than you.
- Respect the Mods and GM. I and the mods are here to ensure that the game runs smoothly.
- No God-Modding. Your character cannot easily win fights. Make sure to let enemies have some chance to attack. Solving every problem instantly makes for an extremely boring RP.
- Keep OOC to a minimum. Keep all major discussions within this thread.
- Do not control other character's players. Proper procedure in any RP.
- Be Descriptive. Short posts make for a very boring RP. Go for three sentences to a paragraph, please.
