I know. This thread again. I was wondering if you needed to add an extra server for a short amount of time. I'm experiencing a large amount of errors, and sometimes it pops up and says "This webpage is not available". Sometimes it just does not load at all. Bulbapedia is closed to editing. And 408, 503, and 504 errors have started to appear in large numbers. This hasn't happened since the TR takeover, in which you guys did add an extra server. It just started happening the 11th, so it may just be "That thread again", but I thought it was very strange. Just getting here to post this took close to 30 minutes, and it usually only takes me 5 minutes to post. Also, while I was in the arcade, I finished with a score that beat my opponent, but it was reset do to a 408 error. I've checked my internet connection, and it is going strong, and another program is unaffected by this same problem. It's taking me at least 5 minutes to load a single page. Another one of the things I come up with is "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to bmgf.bulbagarden.net. Suggestions: Try reloading the page

I'm sorry for any inconviniance, but I'm just a little irritated with all the errors coming onto my screen. Thanks in advance!

Seems to be just from all of the Black and White news coming out, after the excitement of that it should go back to normal.

Erm... Same thing's been happening to me. I'm assuming because of the really large B/W trafic.

I was wondering if I was the only one with this problem, the same thing is happening to me. It's annoying, but I have faith in the people running the site, but I do think its a bit worse than last time, this time the site is actuelly refusing to let me in, before it was just errors.

Its for everyone. Bulbagarden has been getting alot of traffic for many reasons (B&W info, summer) and that puts a lot of stress on each site. Bulbapedia has already been closed to edits due to this. I may be wrong, but I think thats whats causing this. An elevator can only support so many people before it breaks.

Yeah, same thing. I have been getting a lot of things saying "can't connect to the page." And my internet works fine everywhere else.

To answer the original questions, servers aren't really bought for short amounts of time. They're a significant long-term infrastructure investment.

this is maybe why i couldnt access the forums or bulbagarden itself 2 or 3 days ago i was not able to load a page but able to ping the server

You guys on the forums think you have it bad... heh, you don't know half the problem.

Isshu is becoming more and more of an issue.

It IS getting annoying, especially since I thought it was my (new) computer having problems. Glad to see it's not just me.

Not bothering me. o.o I don't see why it's bothering anyone. Nothing can have perfect 100% uptime.

Regardless, they're doing their best to fix it, right? They'll fix it when they fix it. That's that. (=

lol I like this! I totally understand. I really feel bad for you guys. I've never run a site, but I'm currently running something like it. I now know how much work it is, and how annoying people can get. Thanks for all the info, and great job you guys!
