My padded cell
Receives 5 stars.
Rust-ridden and bewildered
I hold them in my creaky hands
And their limbs fall
But do not regenerate
Like their aquatic counterparts.
They used to tell me
The ocean was for free men
And thinkers
Both speckled and striped
And all the little variables one
Found in between the code.
Pacing the shoreline
I discover that even gold is
Soiled.
The questions posed are as fake
As the answers given and the
Dirt is laughing at the renegade
Forced to coexist with the law.
The mirrors and the faces within them
tell me things
And give me coats
Filled with sugar and
Icing.
A cup half full
Raised to the joys of
Unity and dictionaries
Upon thesauri
Brimming with ambition.
I forgot my lines again.
