exp share and ev's?

one question, if i train a pokemon using an exp share do they still gain ev's or do they actually have to participate in combat to recieve them?

But yeah, your pokemon holding exp. Share gains ev's. I don't know how it works exacitally tho.

I think it works like this, If pokemon A is holding an exp share, and pokemon B is in battle and defeats a wild gyarados, pokemon B will get 2 attack EV's while pokemon A gets 1 attack EV.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
