I started thinking whenever I see a banned person's posts on the forum, "man, it seems kind of embarrassing to that guy if his peers can see he's banned". So I got to thinking, shouldn't people be allowed to control who can see in the event they got a banned status? That way nosy friends or people that you just don't get along with don't have to know that you did something wrong and question you when you got back. You could keep it solely between you and the staff (unless its a perma-ban). Any thoughts or comments on this?

I don't think that would actually work. Being banned puts you in a banned usergroup, and you can't really hide what group you're in. Also, I'm pretty sure none of the other upper Admins would agree to altering the Banned Usergroup to make it look like the Registered Group.

It's just not worth the effort. If people are embarrassed about being banned, then they shouldn't break the rules in the first place.
