I'm facing a huge dilemma right now...I've had the S.S. Ticket on me for a little while, but every time I get near that boat, I become overridden with anxiety. I don't want to leave Johto. It's such a nice place, and I'd miss being here. Plus, I can't decide on whether or not I should take my current team with me, or raise some new pokèmon for the next journey. It's really tearing me apart, and I can't seem to commit to getting onboard the S.S. Aqua...Vermillion just seems so far away.

In fact, I've been trying to keep myself busy, in hopes of serving as a distraction to my situation. The Battle Frontier and Pokèathlon Dome have both become stale for the time being. So instead, I've been hatching different eggs to fill out my PokèDex, but that's taken its toll on my wallet. Now, I'm dumpstering around Goldenrod, and it's really starting to settle...I could just go get those eight new badges and make some cash, but the idea of leaving is still pretty scary, too. What should I do? =/

Well, if you're really that bored, go to Kanto. That's what I'd do.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. You know you can fly back immediately, right? And that starting over with a new team is idiotic, because the gyms scale with the first eight?

I hope you're joking, because if you're serious, I kinda want to hit you.

Aww...

It's not that I'm bored. Actually, I'm scared that I'll get bored of this game once I'm through with it, and it's been moving by pretty quickly. I never even spent time grinding like in previous games (including G/S). But, I did EV train this time around, so that accounted for a little of the EXP acquired.

And, no, I am not kidding. Please don't hit me. My initial post was meant to be a little funny, but I am serious. I mailed out my game to my cousins a couple of weeks ago because I haven't been able to find an open network to get on wi-fi. I just got it back yesterday, and I'm still hanging out in Goldenrod right now. Oh, and I know the gym leaders are fairly high level over in Kanto; I beat G/S and never experienced this problem back then. I'm more than willing to raise a few (but not all six) new pokèmon, but at the same time I'm pretty sure that my current team could dominate them. I was hoping other trainers could help point me towards a direction...

You could....

Go to Kanto. :/ Fight the trainers there before fighting the leaders. It's not like it's a one-way ticket, particularly since you can easily fly back whenever you want.

But I assume we can't play your game for you...though I think you're taking this a little too seriously. It is just a game, and not a life-changing decision.

You know what you can do in case you get bored of the game? Play another game. There's at least, like, SIX games for the DS by now. I know there's a Mario, and I'm PRETTY sure there's a Zelda.

Also books.

If nobody got bored of their games the video game business wouldn't well..be a business.

Want some help facepalming him? I can hold and you can hit?
This is just stupid, you don't have to make a thread about you being afraid that if you do the fun things in the game, then it will be boring. If anything blog it.

If you're afraid of getting bored with the game, the ultimate solution is to not buy it in the first place.

*headdesk*

What made you think this needed a thread? It doesn't/ If you are bored, either play a different game or do something else. If you don't want to fight the ridiculously easy leaders in Kanto, then don't go to Kanto (why you wouldn't go there is anyone's guess). OR! Go to Kanto, then fly to the Indigo Plateau and then wherever you want.

Or just do the Battle Frontier by Olivine, catch all the legends you've missed, practice battling with the trainers around the place or better yet PLAY ANOTHER GAME!!

Well, money-wise, there's a number of phone-call trainers that give vitamins, which can be sold for a LOT OF MONEY. Battle them OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Money problems solved.
Also Rock Smash gets you Max Ethers to sell!
And I know there's angst in deciding what to do, but Kanto is much better in HGSS. The Seafoam Islands, Viridian Forest, and Cerulean Cave have been restored to their former glory. You CAN train a whole new team, but the effort required is fairly time-consuming. Besides, you'll need your team to level up in order to beat Red (which you need to do to unlock several cool things). So, yeah, continue on to Kanto with your team. Also, train a False Swiper, Parasect is your best bet. SPORE+FALSE SWIPE=WINWINWIN.
Also, in terms of Johto being far away, ONLY FOR THE TWO HOURS AT MOST that it takes to get the Power Plant online and get the Magnet Train pass. Maaaaaaaagnet Traaaaaaaaaain!
If you want to train a new team, do something different. I suggest training an all-Water type team for the lulz. Also, Dowsing Machine everywhere if you haven't yet.
