Got a recipe for those time where you need to impress and don't have a whole lot of time and money? Post it here to help other make masterpieces from nothing at all!

Here's mine

Hellion's Quick and Easy Alfredo!

Ingredients

- Butter (1 tbs spoon for each person you're serving)
- Flour (1 tbs spoon for each person you're serving)
- Milk (3/4 cup for each person you're serving)
- Grated parmesan cheese (1/3 cup for each person you're serving)

1. In a saucepan over a medium stovetop, melt the butter.

***Note: To add some flavour, you can replace one of the table spoons of butter, by garlic butter.

2. Once the butter has completely liquified, add the flour and use a whisk to really mix the two together. The result should look a bit doughy.

3. Add the milk in the saucepan and stir with the whisk to help disolve the flour and butter into the milk. Keep the sauce over medium heat while stirring until it has smoothed.

4. Once the sauce is hot and has a smooth texture, add the cheese to the saucem and continue stirring.

5. Once the cheese has fully melted, pour over the hot pasta of your choice.

This recipe is not only fairly basic and delicious, but is also the basis for other pasta dishes. After #4, add a small can of tomato sauce for a colorful rosée sauce or pieces of cooked bacon for a tasty carbonara.

Enjoy!

Figured I should bump this up since I had a really good meal tonight with some old standards:

Hummus and veggies: just get store-bought hummus if you're lazy. Slice some bell peppers (red works best for this,) and add baby carrots or thin-sliced not-babies. Snap peas are another good addition, along with crackers.

Corn salsa: Corn, avocados, slightly cooked onions, slightly cooked cherry tomatoes, a bit of lemon juice, salt. Cook the onions and tomatoes in a little olive oil and pour it on top. Portions can be approximated, but about 2 ears of corn with an avocado and 6-10 tomatoes will feed ~4 as a side dish. Salt to taste.

Baked BBQ chicken: Chicken breasts, BBQ sauce, pepper. Find a good BBQ sauce. DIY is a pain, and there are tons of great varieties out there. Get one that suits your palette, marinade your chicken in it. Slice your chicken pretty thin--so each person will be full with 2-3 pieces of the size you cut. When it's marinaded (30 minutes or 4 hours work, whatever,) throw a little more sauce on top, crack some pepper on there, and throw it in the oven. Should cook in about 20 minutes at 350. Remove and serve. If you're like me and love cheese, throw some shredded cheddar on there.

I made Spaghetti and Meatballs, but I added Mint sauce to the meat balls.

I don't know if that's weird or anything, but it was delicious.

Well, my Mum uses my Nana's old recipe for making breaded chicken, so to one-up her, I give it my own spin by throwing in a few spices. That's...not much though xD

So making that next time I'm given control of what to make xD
