Tyler slowly opened his eyes to see bright sunlight streaming in through his open window. "Must've left that open last night." he thought. Tyler slowly got out of bed after pausing for a moment to stretch and made his way over to his dresser. He pulled out his favorite shirt and a pair of worn jeans. He could smell the smells of his mom cooking breakfast wafting up from the open kitchen window into his room. He happily walked downstairs where his mom had already set down a plate of hotcakes for him. "Enjoy," she said sweetly "You'll need your strength for today." "Thanks mom." Tyler managed to get out through a mouthful of breakfast. After finishing his breakfast, he put his plate in the sink and made his way to the door where his mom and dad were waiting. "I know you'll do great son." said his dad with a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "So do I!" said his mom, giving him a kiss on the cheek. His parents opened the door for him and as he walked out, he smelled the fresh air of Pallet Town and thought, "This is going to be one great adventure."
