Topic title pretty much speaks for itself. I've separated Ruby and Sapphire from Emerald because some people might've enjoyed playing through the either of the first two games more than Emerald, considering how RS brought forth a new region, while Emerald was more akin to a director's cut.

Anyway, my favorite 3rd Generation game (and really, my favorite Pokemon game of all time after Platinum) is Emerald. Pokemon Emerald took everything that was great about Ruby and Sapphire while managing to combine their stories into a great one. I loved how Rayquaza was implemented into the story, and the war between Kyogre and Groudon. The Battle Frontier was easily the best addition, however, and really brought forth tons of replay value.

FireRed. I got serious nostalgia playing that game. It brought back the memories of playing Red and Blue.

I really enjoyed Emerald. I think it's plot is one of the best from a pokemon game.

I can't believe someone voted for Channel. I mean, even if you enjoyed the game, it doesn't compare to anything else the 3rd Generation had to offer.

Its because we can vote for multiple games in the poll. The user has also voted for several other titles.

On the contrary, it should be there. Though it doesn't give an accurate description of which is the fan favourite, cartain titles not getting a single vote is avoided.

Well, I was looking more for the former. I wanted an accurate representation of what the fandom's favorite 3rd Generation game was.

No big deal, though. As you said, this way we avoid titles like Channel not getting a vote at all.

FireRed and PkmnXD:GoD tie as my favorites:)

FR: i never played the gen 1 handheld games so it was a whole new exp. for me :D it was the 2nd handheld i played after my 1st, Gold.

XD: 1st console title i've played (for 3rd gen) and was veerrry fun and has tons of replay value<3

Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire was great fun, as was Pokemon Emerald, so I voted fer the both of them.

Oh, definitely Emerald. It is the most challenging, the most varied (thanks to Battle Frontier) and overall a better experience with the better story. Also, You have to remember that even though Pokemon Trozei is on the DS, it is still a 3rd Generation game, because it still has 386 Pokemon, although I wouldn't pick that one even then.

If I got Emerald, I would say that, but since I didn't, I'm going with Sapphire.

Emerald by far. Next would be probably R/S and FR/LG tied with each other for second. I can't really say anything for the others though: they're just spinoffs.

I just picked all the ones I have. The main series games're all great. Emerald would be a favorite, except it may be the hardest Pokémon game I've ever played. I had Ruby and FireRed, the first brought amazing graphics and new Pokémon, the latter was a remake that filled what the first didn't have (can't catch'em all if they're not all there). XD was far better than Coliseum, and Lugia was a great (re)addition to the series.
