I'm surprised that no one's made this thread yet, but anyway, I love the Bug-type. My Bug Monotype/Aaron-themed team is my "main" team, and there aren't any Bug-types I dislike. However, I love some more than others.

To this day, Scizor's my favorite Pokemon. It's such a cool design, and it's good in battles to boot! Bug/Steel is a fantastic type, and Scizor makes great use of it. I use mine as an offensive Defogger.

However, Golisopod here gives Scizor a run for its money; I also associate it with my all-time favorite Pokemon character, YA BOI GUZMA!

Let's not leave Wimpod out of the list, either; it's an adorable little isopod. I saw a clip of its anime appearance and they got everything right with how they protrayed the little fella.

And Joltik is easily my pick for "cutest Pokemon ever." It perfectly captures everything that makes real jumping spiders absolutely adorable.
250px-596Galvantula.png

Galvantula's no slouch, either; it manages to be both cool and cute-looking at the same time.
250px-637Volcarona.png

My personal favorite out of the various Lepidoptera Pokemon, Volcarona captuers the fluffiness of real Saturniid moths while retaining a majesticness to its design.
250px-416Vespiquen.png

Speaking of "majestic," Vespiquen has recently landed on my favorites. I like using her to Toxic stall people; unlike other stall 'mons, she's not unbeatable. I also run Attack Order on her to prevent being Taunted to death.
250px-469Yanmega.png

Another fantastic Bug/Flying-type, Yanmega is intimidating-looking. It looks like a prehistoric monster, which it basically is.
250px-214Heracross.png

Heracross, like Galvantula, manages to be cool and adorable all at once. I also had a childhood obsession with rhino beetles, so I have a soft spot for Heracross. It also has one of the rare few Mega Evolutions I genuinely like as much as the original.
250px-545Scolipede.png

I can't believe it took us five generations to get a friggin' centipede. Thankfully, Scolipede did not disappoint. While it was so-so competitively in its debut gen, a buff to its Attack and having its Hidden Ability retconned from Tangled Feet to Speed Boost turned it into one of the biggest powerhouses on my team.
250px-738Vikavolt.png

Despite having a disappointing speed stat, Vikavolt is easily one of my favorite Gen VII Bugs, second only to Wimpod and Golisopod. It's just so awesome-looking.
250px-558Crustle.png

Crustle is another really good Bug-type. Bug/Rock is a fantastic STAB combination, and it's downright devasting in battle when played right; Sturdy guarantees a free Shell Smash against anything that doesn't have Mold Breaker. I run Salac Berry on mine to get another +1 to Speed when Sturdy kicks in.
250px-589Escavalier.png

Another good Gen V Bug (Gen V was *loaded* with good Bugs), Escavalier is a friggin' powerhouse that also has decent bulk. It's also really cool-looking.
250px-205Forretress.png

Forretress is a hilarious looking bagworm/clam hybrid. It's also a really good wall, and a great Rapid Spinner.

Bug is one of my favorite types because of all the interesting designs for Pokémon that have it. Scizor, Golisopod and Scolipede are all really cool in my book, but I also have an affinity for the adorable pupae that are Metapod, Swadloon, Whirlipede, and Charjabug. The lattermost even plays into my love for inanimate object Pokémon. Other bugs that have won me over with their quirky designs include Surskit, Shedinja, Forretress, Crustle, and the awesome anomalocaris Anorith.

It is a really cool and interesting type with Pokemon to go along with it.

I like how there are some that evolve too soon but never get too strong, the Caterpie line in particular has been iconic thanks to Ash getting it in the anime. But each one is unique, even Beautifly/Dustox which seem like Butterfree/Beedrill knockoffs have their special personality value thing going on.

There are indeed lots of different evolutionary or other quirks involved with them; Wurmple, Burmy, Combee, Nincada, Karrablast/Shelmet, Charjabug and even Vivillon forms, all have a little something that sets them apart. Most fully evolved forms have a way to stand out in a unique fashion, too. Nothing's like Golisopod or Araquanid, for example.

Scizor will always be one of my huge favourites and a staple of my competitive team's core since Gen IV, never failing to please even today.

It might be easier to just say which ones I don't particularly like; Paras and Pineco lines, sorry you two, I guess you have your cool things (such as a Pokedex entry and a unique focus on defense for a Bug-type) but it's just not my kind of taste. Also Spinarak and Ledyba lines, maybe Volbeat/Illumise a bit too. And Skorupi... Drapion is cool but I don't see why Skorupi needed to have the Bug-type and then lose it.

Let's not forget that it is the type that has the Pokemon that can deal the most damage and the ones that can receive said damage too; Shuckle VS Combee/Yanma/Ledyba

I like Shedinja for its concept and ability, Scizor for its design and Technician, and Heracross for its powerful STAB moves. Other bugs I like are Armaldo, Galvantula, Volcarona, Shuckle, Yanmega, Vikavolt, and Vespiquen.

I've always liked Venomoth a lot. Moths are a cool animal and the fact that it learns psychic and Sabrina had one made me like it too. I also really like Ariados and Masquerain. Vivillon is a cool concept with all its different forms too, i especially like the monsoon form.

I like water and ghost types more, but bug is still one of my favorite types. Lots of cool things from it.

there are some other bug-types I sorta like, but these are the most notable ones.

The Bug type to me is the "Playthrough" type. Very few Bugs are useful competively. They often have cool designs and abilities though. Ribombee and Scizor are my favorite

I was always quite fond of the Bug type due to how interesting it can be. Some of my favorites of that particular type include Parasect, Forretress, Vespiquen, Galvantula, Araquanid, Shedinja, Ariados, Vikavolt, Venomoth, Mega Pinsir, Volcarona, Ribombee, Ledian, Shuckle, Surskit, and Beedrill.

Bug types are okay, they aren't my favorite but they also aren't my most hated type, I'm just indifferent to them. Though there are some Pokemon of this type I do like, Caterpie line, Wimpod/Golisopod, Weedle line, Beautifly, Dustox, Spinarak/Ariados, and Ledyba/Ledian are examples.

Bug is pretty much my favourite type these days, which surprises me because going back years I would never have saw that coming. It just has so many cool Pokemon these days and the critters they are based on can be so interesting too.

My favourite Bug-types are pretty much tied between Golisopod, Ledian and Heracross. I love all three about the same, it's hard to choose between them.

Other Bugs that I also really like are Vikavolt, Accelgor, Parasect, Ribombee, Mega Pinsir, Galvantula, Volcarona, Shedinja, Scolipede, Vivillon, Yanmega, Crustle, Durant and Ariados.

Scizor, Heracross, Golisopod, and Vikavolt all immediately come to mind as great Bug types, both in terms of design and usability.

I've also used Galvantula and Scolipede to great success in replays of Gen V.

I'm not really certain, tbh. Maybe Scizor, Yanmega, Scolipede, or Ribombee. Bug isn't a type I pay close attention to.

've also used Galvantula and Scolipede to great success in replays of Gen V.
Gen V was really good to the Bug-type, TBH. None of the Bug-types had the typically low stats and poor stat distribution Bug-types in past gens (exceptions: Scyther/Scizor, Pinsir, Heracross, Forretress, Shuckle, Armaldo, Ninjask, Vespiquen and Yanmega) had. Volcarona and Scolipede are fantastic Pokemon competitively to this day, in fact.

While it's PU on Smogon, I've rekt entire teams using a Shell Smash Crustle. Getting a guaranteed Shell Smash thanks to Sturdy is freaking amazing. Combined with a Salac Berry to get another speed boost after Sturdy kicks in, and he's swept entire teams with no problem. If an opponent does a switch when he switches in, he gets another free Shell Smash in... And anything that doesn't resist Stone Edge, X-Scissor or Earthquake dies.

I've done something like that too, but it was on a Rock Monotype team in Gen VI so I wasn't thinking too "Bug" about it all. This was beautiful together with Aerodactyl's Stealth Rock breaking an opposing Sturdy.

Volcarona is gorgeous. I even considered making Volcarona into a Pokesona at one point. I also like it's dual typing with fire, because fire is my favorite element. :D

Vespiquen is another Bug type that I think is really pretty. I will always go out of my way to get a female Combee whenever I play Pokemon games that feature it.

Well there's Volcarona, one of the scariest sweepers in the game, and Mega Scizor, always a great utility Pokémon in almost every format it's legal in. Outside of that, though, no Bug types really stand out to me. It's a bit similar to Normal in that there is so much competition that there are a ton of Bug types that fail to secure a niche in even the lower tiers, combined with the type's inherent problems both offensively and defensively. At least it has U-turn.
