Okay, now that most of us have played the game (now that Europe has it), who's your favorite character? For me, there's only one answer...

IT'S YOUR BOY, GUZMA! Seriously, I love this guy. Hell, I love Team Skull in general, but Guzma is downright hilarious. His whole "destruction in human form" bragging and yelling at himself when he loses is great, and he ALSO gets the single greatest line in the series.

He is just the best.

Favorite villain of the game: Lusamine. That is how a real villain behaves - despicable and no remorse.
Favorite non-villain of the game: Gladion - good design and his Type Null is a good opponent in my opponent.

Guzma was ace. But my favorite was Lillie. Though honestly, their character game was excellent this time around. I like pretty much everybody, and there aren't any complete duds like some of XY's characters.
 
I love Lillie, she's basically my favorite character. Her development is nice, even though she wasn't a trainer and you never got to battle her she was still one of the fun parts in the game, at least to me. My previous favorite character in the games was probably Zinnia, Lillie might beat even her.
 
definitely without a doubt Lillie such an incredibly fantastic character and one of my top Pokegirl of all time, plus pretty much was her story and she definitely deserve the love she's getting. Her Mother Lusamine is fantastic as well love her backstory with Lillie and love the moment when she is back to her senses telling her daughter how beautiful she became plus is getting a cure from Bill because of their Mother-Daughter love also her Z-Powered Form was beautiful ;_;

Also the MC x Lillie moment getting her old doll is just icing on the cake!

YA BOY GUZMA! He is my favorite villain in the series now, because of his boisterous, cocky, and egocentric personality, plus his hilarious dialogue. I also like how there's a very slight amount of his backstory revealed, if you go to his house on Route 2. Guzma was not the main villain, but he was certainly extremely entertaining.

Also, I think Lillie is one of the most precious characters in the whole series. I absolutely loved her story and how she developed through it.
 
Gotta go with Lillie. She could have easily been the annoying damsel in distress, but her character became a lot deeper than that over time. Though I think everyone in her family are my favorites, seeing as how diverse and real they act as a family.

Gladion barely interacts with Lillie or Lusamine. I guess that's realistic, but the fact that he let the player handle his family's affairs doesn't paint him in a good light.

I am interested in Lillie and Lusamine's future in Kanto. Both of them feel undercooked to me.
 
Surprisingly Lillie is probably my ultimate favorite in the story. There were times with the story where I couldn't decide if I was playing Final Fantasy or Pokemon. GF really mixed it up this time. And the ending to the main game with Lillie closing out the story like it was an epic journal had me emotional.

Hau also grew on me a lot. He wasn't the traditionally annoying rival.
 
My favourite character is Lillie, without a doubt, but the whole family takes the cake for me. Lillie, Lusamine & Gladion are all great imo.
Lusamine best villain~

I honestly think Lillie is one of the best characters written in these series. Her character arc and how she develops (that costume change!) just really resonated with me.

Lillie in some ways reminds me of Serena from the XY anime.. not as annoying though.

True, but they also didn't typically appear together so they never had much of a chance to interact. And Gladion running away understandably put a little awkwardness between them, so I figure they were hesitant to talk to one another. As far as him having the player handle his affairs, I don't necessarily see it in that light as I don't think he ever intended to go back to the Aether Paradise; the only reason he did was to get Nebby back, and he brought the player back with him due to their strength and involvement with Lillie. He did ask the player to battle Lusamine though, but I wouldn't necessarily consider that enough to say he had the player handle his affairs.

Agreed! I thought the tie-in with Bill was clever, so I'm hoping we'll be able to see some progress from them in whichever games come next (or even next Gen perhaps?).

He let the player and Lillie deal with the Poni Island quest, claiming that he had to "clean up the mess" in the Aether Foundation. But what did he even do there? It was Wicke who helped the player find the Ultra Beasts much later.

To be fair, this isn't a character flaw so much as a storyline flaw.
 
Definitely Lillie. Her development was really well done, and I hope we get to see Pokemon Trainer Lillie in a future game.

Completely forget about the flutes, but I considered him to be doing background stuff like sorting what's going to happen to the Foundation with the absence of his mom (with Wicke's help of course). Though, I guess that's more wishful assumption on my part than knowing what he actually did, since I'm not sure what he really could have done since it doesn't seem like he had much power in the Foundation to begin with.
 
One thing I find odd about Lillie is that she resolves to become a trainer without explaining what's changed about her stance on disliking battles.
