I love Gyms, but Contests need love too!

For all of you who at least enjoyed some contest moments, what were they?

Did you enjoy any of May's, Dawn's? Their rivals?

I love contests, so I have a few.

Note: They can include ribbon win poses, character development, loses, funny moments, sad moments, epic wins, epic fails, nice appeals!

Oh, and Musashi vs. Salvia! And the scene after the battle. Not really contest related, but Hikari's day as a princess was fun too. The moments with Urara and Hikari are interesting with all the hate.
 
Can't remember from the top of my head...

Maybe James' Chimecho (who was used by Jessie) vs. May's Combusken. That didn't seem like much, though.

Ash's Sceptile vs. May's Blaziken towards the end of the Battle Frontier arc. That was one epic battle.
 
Harley's impressive imitation of 'The Scream' and the "Very Surprisssssse!" he cried whilst doing so.
The shutdown of Munchlax via Octillery also scores high. Not a Munchlax fan, but I'm a hater. And I'm gonna hate.


But the best by far though was Combusken kicking Absol's arse, in particular the close range Overheat and the final Sky Uppercut. They'll never top that.

I remember I really liked right after Dawn and Kenny battled, and Kenny had just lost and said "Oh well, maybe next time". I just remember I loved how mature he was about that.
 
May VS Drew in the Kanto GF was awesome... I don't even remember how exactly the whole battle was, but I sure remember that I thought it was one of the best battles in the whole show
For DP - Wallace Cup, Daybreak Contest and the Salvia episode are probably my favorites DP Contests... but the GF will probably be even better than all of that!
 
May vs Drew, I'm a guy who likes battles, and I have to admit that was awesome.
 
I'm only halfway through BF, so for now I'll say Hikari's 5th ribbon is easily my favorite Contests moment. Intense battle, awesome rival, perfect music, Hikari's childhood fear being confronted... I can watch that battle again and again and never tire of it. It was all perfect.
 
I can't really remember many, but a couple of my favourite AG contest moments were when May battled Harley for the first time, and Harley leaked that May was scared of Tentacool, and also when Skitty used Assist too many times, and it got confused. From DP, I would have to say when Dawn's Piplup battled Kenny's Prinplup, when Dawn battled Ursula for the first time, and when Ash's Buizel used Ice Aqua Jet in the Wallace Cup.
 
I seriously would say any of the contests with May. I dunno. x: I loved watching them, and I still do. But just my top two of them;

Harley playing dirty in his first battle with May. Using her fears against her and embarrassing her. Seriously, that was a pretty bitchy thing to do. And I loved it. (Really, anything where Harley was involved. Mayley anyone? ;p)

May VS Drew in the Kanto Grand Festival. That has remained as my all time favorite battle in the whole darn series. I never get tired of watching it.

It's not that I don't think Dawn's contests or anything. They're just less memorable to me. Probably because I haven't rewatched them yet, where as I rewatched the ones from AG multiple times. :p
 
Haruka vs Shuu at the Kanto GF. (Sheer awesomeness.)

Nozomi vs Haruka at the Mikuri Cup. (Use of environment, BGM.)

Hikari vs Urara I (Pachirisu use is addictive.)

"Candy Musalina" vs Hikari. (Manmoo development, maturity for Hikari, Kojiro does something and does it well.)

Candy Musalina vs Urara (Musashi pulled off some nice combinations.)

Hikari vs Urara II. (Encore, Urara being a bitch, Pikari, Flame Ice etc. It has it all.)

DP contests are pretty much the best.

-May vs. Solidad(just because of dancing Slowbro and flaming feathers to attack opponent)

-Dawn vs. Ursula(both)
-Dawn vs. James disguised as Jessilina(Lilypad Contest)
-Jessie vs. Ursula(Daybreak Contest)
-Jessie vs. Salvia(Katakori Contest)

Appeals:
-Drew's second appeal with Absol in Kanto GF.
-Zoey's appeal with Misdreavus in Jubilife Contest.
-All of Jessie's appeals in D/P.
-Zoey's appeal with Finneon in Wallace Cup.
-Kenny's appeal with Alakazam in Floaroma Contest.
-Harley's appeal with Banette in Hoenn GF.
-May's appeal with Skitty in Hoenn GF.
-Dawn's appeal in Hearthome Contest
-Zoey's appeal in Hearthome Contest
-Dawn's appeal in Wallace Cup
-Salvia's appeal in Katakori Contest

I would have included Dawn vs. Lila if it weren't for the horrible animation of Swift in that contest. I didn't include unoffical contests or unoffical contest battles, but Prinplup vs. Pikachu was good, all battles with Fantina were interesting and good(ok, except Zoey vs. Fantina), Dawn vs. Johanna was short but great, May vs. Drew in Unbeatable Lightness of Seeing was great and Terracota Contest was good. I haven't watched most of AG(aka I haven't watched around 182 episodes of it) so I can't comment in most of May's contests. No, both Harley and Jessie's other battles were mostly so fast to enjoy anything at all. And yeah, if I had spoken about the moments, the list would be longer than my lifespan.

Like everyone else... May vs Drew in the Kanto GF. Undoubtedly the mgreatest battle in history.

I really don't like that battle. It was way too much bling bling which took away the seriousity/intensity, plus the fact that Mamoswine continuously took damage from electrical attacks which is just BS.

I actually consider that contest battle one of the most serious and intense, especially near the end. Hikari's and Urara's expressions and tone of voice show that they are really into it.
Oh well, everyone has different preferences.
