Movies/TV Favorite Disney Channel content?

Good Luck Charlie was very very good, I’d say it was my favorite. Unpopular opinion but I also loved Dog With a Blog. I watched Jessie and Liv and Maddie as well but those weren’t as good imo

I liked dog with a blog, jessie, good luck charlie and austin & ally. As for movies I really liked Cloud 9.

I watched a LOT of Disney Channel in the late 90s/early 2000s. It was my favorite channel as a kid. I loved Even Stevens, That's So Raven, Lizzie McGuire and Phil of the Future, and lots of the DCOMs (especially The Cheetah Girls), and a bunch of the cartoons of that era.

I'm not familiar with any of the live action stuff past The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, since I stopped watching the channel a few months after that show premiered. But I really love some of the more recent cartoons - Amphibia, The Owl House, Gravity Falls, and Star vs. The Forces of Evil (at least the first half).

Gravity Falls my absolute beloved, it's probably my all time favorite tv show and i have the entire series on dvd and have read all the official books. Gravity falls is the first fandom i actively participated in and made friends through as little baby 11 year old and its very close to my heart for that.

Somehow i always forget that Even Stevens existed. Probably because it was the only disney show I watched that wasn’t from the early 2010s. But I enjoyed that show as well though I can’t remember a whole lot.

I watched Disney Channel in the mid-2000s but stopped watching it around 2011 so I'm not familiar with the more recent content. I did enjoy the pre-2005 DCOMs, That's So Raven and the first season of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (the later two seasons and On Deck, not so much), and remember the debut of Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama.

Then came Hannah Montana and High School Musical, and suddenly everything changed. Those two were heavily overpromoted and overaired to the point where other shows changed their formula (hence why I hated the later seasons of the Suite Life series) and the older shows and films vanished. Anything else with the core cast got overpromoted (Jump In, Return to Halloweentown), and Foxtel had to open up a dedicated channel for Disney movies because they weren't airing anymore on the main channel. Even Kingdom Hearts II was ignored when it was released (and therefore advertised on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network instead).

It's quite shameful to see shows you love devolve because Disney Channel wanted to appeal to (and profit from) an easy target audience. But on the other hand, you still had the hilarious Australian-made shows like As the Bell Rings that retain the slice of life formula.

I used to watch a lot of live action Disney Channel shows because I wasn't really allowed to watch cartoons on the weekdays growing up. The really funny part is that a lot of Disney LA shows were just as cartoony and off the wall as the actual cartoons so idk if that really worked out lol.

My faves were probably That's So Raven and Suite Life of Zach and Cody. They just vibed with my sense of humor growing up and probably now. (I still think about the PRNDL to this day)

mm, i'd say i was always more partial to cartoon network, but i definitely watched a lot of disney as well. gravity falls and phineas and ferb are probably my favorite cartoons from the channel, and jessie was my favorite sitcom.

i haven't actively watched disney channel in close to ten years, but for some reason a lot of the movies still live in my mind lmaoo. let it shine sticks out to me as one of my earliest memories of being emotionally moved by a creative work (i was in first grade then?) and the WOWP movie is probably one of the first times i cried watching a film (again, i was very young LOL :slowpoke:)

(look i'm autistic when you say 'disney channel' i am going to take it to specifically mean disney channel and not any of its sister channels like disney XD or playhouse disney (or is that disney junior now idk)
