Yeah, another dull poll. If you're into reading fantasy and science fiction, what's your favorite series and why? Although I love Anne McCaffrey's work, I have to choose Tolkien's masterpiece.
 
Lord of the Rings wins for that poll, but my favorite is The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede.
 
No "other" option? My favorite fantasy series is, without a doubt, The Dark is Rising (read it as a kid, and loved it...haven't read anything as good since). Lots of religious symbolism, Grail lore, and lots of violence towards children. Fun stuff.
 
Definitely needs to be another option. My favorite, I believe, would have to be the His Dark Materials trilogy. (You may know them better as The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass.)
 
Harry Potter first, LOTR second because damned if I understand half the things they say, never read/saw Narnia, and haven't heard of the others.
