There's a ton of glitches in Gen I, some useful, and some game-breaking. Some are very memorable, like Missingno. I would like to know, what is your favorite Gen I glitch?
Mine would have to be either the Mew Glitch or Missingno. The Mew glitch is pretty awesome for people trying to complete the Pokédex, while the Missingno. glitch was very useful for duplicating Rare Candies (because I catch legendaries in normal Pokéballs ). Honorable mentions would be the glitch that lets you battle an ultimate form of Agatha, and the glitch that lets you battle Prof. Oak.

What about you guys and gals?

Also a fan of the Mew glitch. In one run-through I did of Red I had two Mew before I got the Cerulean badge and I felt so OP'd. 8)

I also like the Old man/Missingno. glitch, but not because of Missingno.--it was a great way to get Pokémon that were rare/unobtainable in a much easier location. I was able to get rare Safari Zone Pokémon like Tauros and Chansey, as well as multiple Mewtwo because of this glitch.

Pokemon Yellow's 4 4 Hy and its evolved form, Q, which causes a hybridization of my Electrode lol.

Encountering Missingno for the first time was a bizarre, unforgettable experience. It actually used to scare me, but with time it became a loveable target for rare candy trick or treating.

Definitely the Mew glitch, but MissingNo and battling Professor Oak were both pretty cool.

The Mew Glitch. I was never able to go to any of the events back in the day, so I was ecstatic when I first learned I could get as many as two Mew all on my own cartridge without any trading.

I also love the Item Duplication Glitch. In a game without reusable TMs, it's a godsend to be able to get near-finfinite copies of moves like Earthquake and Ice Beam, and the extra Rare Candies, PP Ups, and Master Balls are also nice.:-D

Does anyone here know how the Mew glitch was found out? it's personally my favourite glitch from the Gen 1 series but It really surprises me how anyone could actually figure all that out ...

I don't remember the specifics, but I know it was found out years after the popularity of RBY had long since waned. Like.....2003ish maybe? Glitches for the first generation will probably keep being discovered long after the sun burns out.

My favorite glitch from the 1st Generation of Pokémon is Missingno. but honestly I've never done it since I don't remember doing/trying to do the glitch since I never heard about it before I found Bulbapedia which has an article on the subject. My second favorite glitch is most certainly the infamous/famous Mew glitch since whoever still owns those Game Boy cartridges has one of the first Legendary Pokémon. But you can capture Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo more easily than doing the Mew glitch on the Red/Blue versions (I don't know for sure if the glitch was in Pokémon Yellow).

The Mew glitch was my favorite, only because I thought if I transferred it from Yellow to Crystal I could then move it to Sapphire. I just missed the HG/SS event, and I really thought it would work...

Favorite glitch: +127 added to 6th item slot. VERY helpful for Rare Candies, Vitamins, and TMs you normally get once.

zzazz... nothing like making your entire team into level 153 disobedient exploding bulbasaurs :XD:

My profile picture should make my answer to this fairly obvious. Missingno is my favorite Gen I glitch, and one of my favorite glitches of all time to date. In spite of the lack of Bulbapedia or the massive machine that the Internet has become, everybody I knew was able to do the Missingno glitch. Nobody knew what it meant, and nobody knew what caused it, but it was absolutely amazing and mysterious. Of course, now that we've analyzed it down to a science, the mystery is gone, but I'll never forget those early years and the fascination that was encountering the Missingno.
Honorable Mentions: Glitch City, Mew glitch, and battling Professor Oak.
