As you probably know, Ash has spent the better part ten years earning Gym Badges from the various Gym Leaders in a region.

Which Gym battle did you like the most? Which had the best battle?

Well for one some of his worst gym battles were in Kanto...

As for his best... I'd have to say Sinnoh so far, because we haven't seen much of Unova.

As for my personal favorite Gym battle... can I use the Orange Islands Champion Battle as a choice... if not... Volkner.

As for the worst... Ash Vs Team Rocket...

I think Sinnoh had the best gym battles. Most involved some type of strategy, and the choices of Pokémon Ash used were almost always fair (aside from Infernape taking so many wins). The only ones that I thought were lackluster were Ash's battles against Crasher Wake and Volkner, and even they weren't that unbearable.

My favorite gym battle overall, though, has to be the one against Maylene. I enjoyed the Staravia focus (Brave Bird was beautifully animated), and Buizel vs. Lucario was intense and had a great conclusion (I thought the Aura Sphere-shaped Water Pulse was cool, too). Not to mention the inclusion of Buizel's ability Swift Swim.

Kanto (for entertainment) and Sinnoh (for plot and storyline).

I think the best Gym Battles were in Hoenn and Sinnoh. Kanto had too many give-away badges, half the Johto gyms didn't really stand out to me, the Orange League (while enjoyable) didn't either, and I haven't seen enough of Unova to have an opinion on it.

My favorite Gym Battle was probably Ash's battle against Fantina. I REALLY enjoyed watching that battle. The Counter-Shield was implemented for the first time, and Fantina really seemed to be engaged in the battle. She commented on almost everything, and even used a variation of Ash's own strategy against him (if memory serves correctly).

I picked Johto for two reasons:

1. Two of the Gym battles featured Super Special Awesome Charizard delivering the final blow.

2. The Johto battles really showed Ash developing his talent for devising come-from-behind strategies, such as the Violet Gym battle, where he and Charizard used Pidgeot's own maneuvers against it.

It depends. I voted for Kanto because even though the battles themselves were quite pathetic, the Gym saga's were always fun because of the interesting and comical stuff that happened surrounding them.
Brock's was funny with his dad around, I was always going to love anything associated with Misty and her sisters were funny to meet.
Sabrina's Gym is probably my all time favorite Gym challenge. It was funny and weird, and a little bit scary to imagine your 8 year old self being trapped in a dolls house forever. That's what made it stick out as memorable in my mind, It was the first time I felt a little bit creeped out by Pokemon and I loved Sabrina's style. Lt,Surge was quite funny and Clair was pure awesome.

The worst saga for Gym's was Johto I think. The best saga in terms of the Gym battles themselves, I'd say Hoenn.
If you were basing it on the personalities of the Gym leaders, I'd say DP was a close second to Kanto.

Im surprised anyone voted for BW,we didnt even see half of gym battles yet.

I voted for Johto because not only it made big step forward in battling compared to Kanto but also because some of gym leaders were very memorable to watch.Like Blackthorn arc of five episodes or Olivine gym which was unexpectedly delayed introducing mini adventure of Whirl Islands before match.
Best gym battles in Johto were definitely against Clair liking fact that Ash battled against trainer who was using dragon type or pokemon with dragon characteristics.,Morty gym was pretty epic always liking matches against Ghost types and style of battling Chuck used was unique and unexpected mentally and physically preparing with Machoke before match pulling out his real strength being more focused on battles.
Of course i cant leave out Pryce either because it provided great back story about him and Mamoswine who was extremely resistant liking Ash brilliant use of strategy in that gym using frozen field with Pikachu in his advantage increasing its speed.

Added bonus was use of Ash Charizard in two gyms having epic victories over Pidgeot and Dragonair.

Hoenn gyms had their highlights but they werent portrayed as something very special if you ask me and hile DP portrayed gym leaders well expanding on them half of battles werent memorable in my opinion.Kanto gyms were great for comedy and unique personalities having unique arcs but there werent many great matches in there.Although i need to give credit to Orange gyms because it showed something different than typical battling like racing and shooting cans in first gym or freezing water and carving sled out of ice to win badge.

2. The Johto battles really showed Ash developing his talent for devising come-from-behind strategies, such as the Violet Gym battle, where he and Charizard used Pidgeot's own maneuvers against it.

Seconded,in Johto you can notice that Ash grew as trainer becoming smarter in gym battles using more of strategy and less "head through wall"tactic. He already started to mature with one of particular moments of his unique strategy aside from Falkner which i remember being when he used Totodile,Cyndaquil and Pikachu combination of attacks to turn field in his advantage to throwing out of balance Miltank in rematch vs Whitney or when he used Snorlax resistance to get upper hand against Clair Kingdra.
Some could say some of those strategies were risky but that is Ash style being known for it.Besides as saying goes "no pain,no gain,"

Orange and Shinou were my favorites. Orange really showed how threatening gym leaders should've been, especially in comparison to "badge hand-out" Kanto. The battles were very thrilling and you could easily tell how much hard work would be needed to pull out with a win - what made it more exciting was how dangerous some of the battles were (that one episode where Satoshi and his team carve an ice boat and slide down to the finish line comes to mind). Shinou went in this direction, too, which was one of my favorite things about the saga. Almost all of the gym battles, if not all of them, were memorable.

I'd tack on a vote for Johto, but that'd be solely because I loved the Yanagi/Pryce and Inomo/Piloswine vs. Satoshi and Pikachu battle, which isn't a good enough reason to vote for it as a whole. P:

Favorite Saga: Sinnoh.

Ash really, really started innovating and strategizing full time after losing to Roark. I don't think he had another Gym re-match after. The other thing: favorite Gym Battle of all time, Ash v. Byron. I don't know why, but no battle was better. It was probably because Ash really smoked some tail with his way of beating Bastiodon.

I voted Kanto because they were so memorable! Ash saving Gloom, the battle on top of the Volcano, Ash vs. Sabrina, I loved them all! They were never borng to me, always either funny or really cool

Ash vs. Jasmine was INTENSE though >:D

Sinnoh had the most intense battles, hands down. Wake was the only mediocre match, but even then the battle was still decent.

Sinnoh because they covered excellent stories for the gym leaders and the battles were all awesome.

I would've picked Unova as well... but they skipped Drayden.
