Favorite Indigo League/Kanto Gym Leader?

Well from what I've seen of the anime, the Indigo league really had the best roster of interesting gym leaders. So, excluding Misty and Brock of course, which ones were your favorite?

Mine were Lt. Surge and Sabrina. Sabrina because she had an interesting backstory and I like psychic types. And Surge because...well..he looked and sounded sweet. I guess that's shallow but whatv. )
 
I don't know if I have a favorite gym leader, because all the Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh ones have been good too, but I'd probably say that Blaine is my Kanto favorite.

I'd choose Giovanni, but I primarily look at him as the head of Team Rocket, and then as a Gym Leader. And I don't think Jesse, James and Meowth count either.
 
Eh, I was never too impressed with the Kanto Gym Leaders. They're just not terribly good characters. I really don't want to say Blaine just because Charizard vs. Magmar is one of the only Gym battles I like.
 
Probably overall, Sabrina has an interesting story and seems the most professional and intimidating, as a gym leader should, so she would be my favorite.

Honorable mentions go to Lt. Surge for being the stereotypical American (GOD DAMN!), and Blaine for having one of the coolest if not the coolest gym battle in the anime. Not to mention having a Growlithe and Arcanine in the games, and a Ninetales in the anime.
 
In addition to be a cool character in general, Sabrina was like the only Kanto Gym Leader who actually had some backstory to her in the anime. And she got a three-parter devoted to her, whereas the others sans Blaine only got one a piece. Therefore, she wins. It's just a shame that the anime set her and Kadabra up to be this unstoppable force and they had to go with the cop out "Haunter made Sabrina laugh" ending.

The others all had a few things that I liked about them, but they didn't really seem like much more than slightly more important Characters of the Day. Keep in mind that I'm not including Misty or Brock in this discussion because they have an unfair advantage in being in 275+/400+ episodes each. If you just look at their ONE gym battle episode, however, they did have some backstory to them as well.

Even though I'm all about the originals, I have to disagree that they were most interesting. I actually like the Sinnoh Gym leaders best (surprisingly).

Anyway, of the Kanto gym leaders, my favorite is undoubtedly Lt. Surge. Not just because he has a Raichu, either. He's just all around awesome. Love the attitude.
 
I like Giovanni (predictable), but also Sabrina, because she has a wicked cool doll.

I'm actually the same, Lt. Surge is my favorite. I loved his attitude, and he cracked me up so hard. And favorite female was Winona.

For Sinnoh, I always like more the underrated gym leaders, Crasher Wake and Bryon are my top 2 for Sinnoh at the moment.
 
Huh. I thought this is for Kanto gym leaders only, so I'll only say Sabrina, followed by Lt. Surge.
 
Lt. Surge, mostly due to the GSC saga of Pokemon Special where he became a (sort of) good guy and helped fight that arc's Big Bad. I wish he'd had more episodes in the anime.

I went overboard, I got caught off guard what Evil Raichu said and forgot we needed to put on Kanto gym leader only. I caught it last night, I was like oops. So thats my bad.

I like Surge because he was the one Kanto gym leader who actually forced Ash to improve as a trainer (even thought Brock did the improving for him).

Erika was cute and her episode was as funny as hell.
 
Blaine. I just loved his gym. I wish he appeared again and had another battle with Ash, but this time a 6 on 6 one.
