What are your favorite or most memorable anime deaths of all time? I'd say probably........

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
Satoko's Death(Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni)

Seriously, that was my least favorite character in the whole show. Shion was my favorite character in the whole show. And guess what? Shion KILLS Satoko. Then there was a big plot twist when Shion remembered Satoshi's final wish AFTER she kills her.........lol XD poor Shion......(who then pees herself)

Out of all the people she killed, this was my favorite death. Satoko was determined not to cry to show how strong she had become for Satoshi, and then Shion pees herself. Who could ask for a better death? XD I have no soul....

School Days
Makoto's Death(School Days)

Another one where my fav character does the killing here, to my second-least fav, Makoto. Really, he deserved that after what he did to Sekai. How dare he choose Kotonoha over her........

The two deaths at the ending of the anime really made this anime finale dramatic, but Makoto's stood out.

Although I almost cried when Kotonoha killed Sekai.......T-T R.I.P. Sekai!!!

The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya
Tsuruya Asakura(The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya)

Okay, alien vs. alien and then alien death? WTF? But still, the big fight made it epic, with Yuki trying to fight Asakura and protect Kyon at the same time and all, it was really cool. Then she just.......DIED. Why do purple haired people always attack my fav characters on animes????? *coughPAULcough*

Eventually I'll have an Elfen Lied death up, but I'm not very far on that show yet, just started it.

Um, maybe we should Spoiler tag these.

Metropolis
Tima, although she may have been rebuilt.

Last Exile
Luciola

Wolf's Rain
Blue wasn't ressurected?! Why?!

And none of them beat A Dog of Flanders
If you haven't seen it, which I'm sure most of you haven't, it's a story of a boy and his dog. This time, the boy and the dog die of starvation on Christmas day.

Yeah, I'll edit my first post and spoiler tag them.

Code GEASS:

Suzaku, as ZERO, assassinates Emperor Lelouch vi Britannia, thus deleting the world's concentration of hate that he had chosen to take unto himself. That was the ZERO Requiem.

Death Note:

Light's plan is finally revealed, and after Matsuda had shot him with a barrage of bullets, while being engrossed in the thought that the one being that Light had thought would save him would, Light had forgotten what Ryuk had stated from the beginning..... "Damn it."

Rurouni Kenshin:

As the fight between Kenshin and Makoto Shishio strided on, Shishio hadn't realized how high his body heat had risen. As a result, his body combusted. His body heat rose so high as a result of being oiled and burned to death (not really) by the Meiji administration many years back, making his body heat very unstable at all times. The fat and oils of his body acted as the catalyst for why Kenshin had not been killed that day.

Yu-Gi-Oh!:

With the answer of the Pharaoh's name, the three Gods of Egypt combined into the goddess Creator of Light - Horakhty. As she casted her Sublime Light Djeseru into the core of Zork Necrophades, the Shadow Realm is destroyed for forevermore, and the future of Yugi and Atem is revealed.

Yeah, I thought that was a weird way to end an anime, killing off the main character. Basically he cracked.

My favorite and most memorable deaths would be,

L from Death Note, it might not be my most favorite but I thought it was a memorable one and it had a big impact on the series.

Lelouch from Code Geass his death spraked the change of the whole world which is just about the biggest thing a death can do.

Jiraiya from Naruto he fought Pain to protect the leaf village and going in the line of duty like that it honorable, even for a pervert.

Nozomu from Zetsubou Sensei ok he hasnt died yet but he will just you wait.

My favorite anime deaths have to be ( I don't know how to spoiler tag so forgive me if that is what we are supposed to do) but from DBZ:
-Vegeta being killed at the hands of Frieza( such a poignant moment and added further weight to Goku's eventual confrontation)
-Goku sacrificing himself against Cell( such an honorable way to die)
Yu Yu Hakusho:
Genkai being killed by Toguro(You shouldn't be allowed to hit old ladies like that)
G Gundam:
Master Asia's death was so freakin badass. I mean like him and Domon reciting the mantra of the School of the Undefeated of the East was amazing.

There are probably more but I can't think of any.

Most memorable to me: Towards the end of Digimon Savers, BanchoLeomon sacrifices his life to stop Yggdrasil's corruption. Very valiant sacrifice indeed.

Tips to anyone making spoiler tags: Write which anime it is first, otherwise I don't know if I'll be spoiled on something or not:-/ (True all that has been mentioned till now I already knew about or didn't care but still)

Disgaea 3
Fine its not an anime, but it has an anime-OPENING so hah:D
I'm not sure if these can either count as deaths either as both characters return to life minutes later... Silliest is Geoffrey, who gets an intense "death-scene" complete with final words and falling over...until he tells you in the next chapter that he was wearing a bullet-proof west, rendering the death scene entirely pointless... BUT IT WAS FUNNY!
Almaz deserves a mention too, he is one of my favorite characters and unlike Geoffrey he actually dies... and later returns to life. BUT HE DIED. By an illness (well curse)... One of the few fictional heroes I've known to actually die like that.. him and:

Dragoball Z
Son Goku dying from a heart disease.
It only happens in an alternate future but its still pretty ironic. Other deaths in DBZ I don't really care about since there's hardly any character who doesn't die at least once, and with everyone just returning to life its just meaningless..

Fullmetal Alchemist
Hughes. WHY ARAKAWA? WHY?
Killing of comic relief characters shouldn't be allowed seriously... :bawling:

Sailor Moon

During the last two episodes of the first series, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury and Mars were each killed by the monsters known as the DD Girls. Sailor Mars' death was also a Crowning Moment of Awesome. Sailor Moon then has to fight and kill her brainwashed lover, Mamoru. During the final battle with Queen Beryl, Sailor Moon uses all her power and dies herself.

The final episodes of the series had the main cast die as well. Mamoru was taken out by Galaxia near the beginning, unknown to Usagi.

Towards the end, Sailors Uranus and Neptune form a false alliance with Galaxia in the hopes of defeating her. To prove themselves, they kill Saturn and Pluto. Galaxia kills Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter and after Uranus and Neptune show their true intentions, she kills them as well.

Usagi of course, manages to reverse things both times.
