I don't want you to just say "The second movie", I want to know WHY you like it, why it's the best in your opinion, why it's your favorite, ect.

Mine has to be the first movie. I remember it so well, the day I went to the movie theater to see it. I remember afterwards every, single kid in that studio (including me) was talking to each other, getting out their Gameboy, their old link-cables and battling, or getting out their cards and doing quick trades.

But not just that, the way the movie tied into the animé was very, very impressive, and how the movie could be considered canon due to the fact parts of the movie, such as Mewtwo escaping from the Team Rocket base, are shown in both the animé and movie, and the fact Ash and co. lose their memory at the end of the movie- which explains why the events of the movie aren't mentioned in the animé, and why for about ten episodes you get a few scenes of Giovanni and Mewtwo, and yet after that there is no more mention of Mewtwo at all (at least until the film Mewtwo Returns).

And so on and so forth.

*goes off to watch the first movie*

Also seven-hundredth post.

Also I remember how like everyone was sitting in the movie theater at the end of the film and then it was like "STAY WHERE YOU ARE" and played the trailer for the second movie and everyone was just gasping.

Pokemon Lucario is the one I like to watch, because of Ash's Aura powers (and I think the parallels to the Jedi are obvious). Oh, and let's not forget about Princess May.

I voted for the second movie too, and I fully agree with Misty. Everything about it is just coolness: the feeling of adventure, Lugia, Jirarudan, Furura, Rocket-dan being true heroes and getting lots of screentime, the action, the birds... And the talking Yadoking! The music in the Japanese version is incredible, and I also like the dub version of "Furura's Flute". I've seen this movie so many times that it's gotten a little boring, which has also happened with...

... The eight movie. It is also my favorite. I don't like Lucario or care about Aaron much, but this movie feels more special than the others. Who am I kidding, it's the Rocket scenes anyway.

a tie for me.

Third - Soundtrack, plot and Entei's awzum japanese voice =D
Eight - Soundtrack and plot

First Movie wins for me based on the childhood memories I have from that period of time. Pokemon was so huge back then, and it was def fun to be part of the phenomenon.

A close second though is the Lucario Movie. So emotional.

The first 3 will always be my favorite, and its the end of the "classic era" of Pokemon for me. I know the 3rd movie is a Johto movie, but there was heavy emphasis on Charizard in it so it made it feel like a Kanto movie.

The 4th and 5th movies weren't as good as the original three, we were knee-deep in Johto by then and it showed. I do like the 5th movie to some extent though, mostly for Latias.

Of the AG movies, Movie 8 was the best, and 6 and 9 are tied. Movie 7 would have been better if it didn't have such a ridiculous ending with those block robots.

Of the DP movies, 12 > 10 > 11.

Movie 10 easily. Has likable characters, a nerd guy getting the cute girl, tons of steam and clockpunk goodness, some beautiful scenery, Darkrai, and some excellent action scenes. As well as tons of Alice in Wonderland imagery.

Ugh, it's up in the air between the first, second, and Mewtwo Returns- all for nostalgic reasons (well, except for the last one, it's mostly because I find it funny for some reason, I guess like with Ash THROWING Mewtwo over his shoulder). I went with the first one though in the poll. In b4 anyone rants about how bad the dub script for the first movie was or whatever. I just deal with it and enjoy the warm fuzzies from nostalgia and love of the movie.

I do like 7th, 11th and 12th ones, too. Most of the movies have something I like...it's always the Pokemon characters, too, and how they interact with Ash usually.

The Entei one, even with plot holes. Long story short, that one seemed the most bizarre to me. (One day I want to legally and legitimately watch the movie in Japanese to experience the atmosphere of the movie with its original music to see how I'd interpret the movie.)

Also I remember how like everyone was sitting in the movie theater at the end of the film and then it was like "STAY WHERE YOU ARE" and played the trailer for the second movie and everyone was just gasping.

Oh... so that's why they said that. I've seen that trailer many times, but not in this context. I never saw any of the Pokemon movies in theaters. (But I think I remember seeing that trailer in theaters for another movie. Prince of Egypt, maybe? I did see the trailer for the third movie in theaters.)

Wait... people were still in the theaters? They didn't leave? Really? I figured they would...

Lucario and the Mystery of Mew!

I liked the first movie, due to the childhood memories and all ( I brought my plush pikachu with me to the theater to watch), but Lucario was a much better film to me. It really had alot of action in it, and it was interesting to watch. There were even some pretty sad parts in it. This movie also helped get me back into pokemon (as a hardcore fan), as I watched it on Cartoon Network one day when nothing else was on. I remember picking up my gameboy and playing Ruby for the first time in a long time after it finished. A few weeks later I bought Platinum and signed up on these forums.

Arceus and the Jewel of Life wins out for me by a little over The Rise of Darkrai. I long hoped for a movie set in ancient Greece and they delivered with that. The movie had great characters and story too. I really thought it recaptured the spirit of what a Pokémon movie is about.

Mewtwo Strikes Back, also because of the vivid memories of it, my cousins and friends were all there and we saw it together in awe, and i remember watching a close-up of Mewtwo on the big screen and thinking it was so cool (i didnt have the games yet so i never saw it in the game), and I looked down and looked at it again and thinking wow I have a Mewtwo pokemon card ;P

second is definitly Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, i was finally happy an insanely good pokemon movie came out, i mean the ones before it were good(some more than others) but this one was so much better

DEFINATELY THE third movie, i wasnt expecting charizard to return but he did and i was so glad.

I really like the first three. The Power of One is my favorite, though, and always has been, probably because it had great music, plot, and had Lugia in it(which was my favorite Pokemon for two or three years after I saw the movie).
Mewtwo Strikes Back is my second favorite, because I love Mewtwo and Mew, and, also has a pretty good plot.
And, Spell Of The Unown is my third favorite, just because it is. Have no real reason why.

3rd Movie, I loved the Unown, Molly Hale, and Ash's mom getting to do something in a movie for once.

Well, currently, I'd have to say Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Don't really know why, I just do. Plus if it's good and have sad parts enough to make my MOTHER tear up (and she rarely tears up at movies), I know it's just that good.

Jirachi Wish Maker is a close second, with Destiny Deoxys and Mystery of the Unown tieing for third.

...I'll make a special mention for the first movie though. >3> It's pretty awful, especially the way 4Kids made the 'fighting is wroooong" so anviliscious, but...P-Pikachu crying. Just...Pikachu crying. Anytime I see a Pikachu cry, be it serious or funny, I will break down and cry with that Pikachu.
