So who are some of your favorite movie, or even TV directors?

I honestly don't have any myself. :sweatlol: but @Continent Turtle; @garrison-san; feel free to repost your opinions here. :)

Martin Scorsese - Goodfellas, Casino, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Gangs of New York
Francis Ford Copolla - Godfather, Godfather II, Apocalypse Now

I'll edit more in sometime.

Definitely Hayao Miyazaki. He has yet to make a film I haven't loved.

Joel and Ethan Coen, Woody Allen, Jim Jarmusch, Nanni Moretti, Richard Linklater, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, David Lynch, Derek Jarman, Gus Van Sant, Wayne Wang, Kim Ki-Duk (when he's not torturing fishes), Takeshi Kitano, John Sayles, Werner Herzog, Cory McAbee, Frédéric Back, Aleksandr Petrov...to name a few.

Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, Sergio Leone, Coen brothers, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, Paul Thomas Anderson, Hayao Miyazaki, Orson Welles, Christopher Nolan, David Fincher and Brian De Palma are the ones I can think of at the moment.

Quentin Tarantino, Coen Brothers, Danny Boyle, David Lynch, Robert Rodriguez, Sam Raimi.

Some great answers here - I love Danny Boyle, Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, Paul Thomas Anderson, Christopher Nolan, Richard Linklater, and Orson Welles.

I'd also add Sergio Leone.

Now I feel silly for saying I didn't have any favorites. Because this man is a genius.

Tarantino, Scorsese, Coppola, the Wachowskis, Wes Anderson, Rian Johnson, Ridley Scott, John Carpenter, Sammo Hung, David Fincher, Andrew Dominik, Coen Brothers, David Lynch, Takeshi Kitano, Christopher Nolan, Stanley Kubrik, and Luc Besson. Most of those are the usuals, but Kudos if you get the likes of Andrew Dominik and Rian Johnson.

George Romero. He practically created the basic concept of zombies, and Dawn of The Dead is a strong contender for my favourite movie of all time. I'll be grateful to him forever.

I like a lot of James Cameron's movies. They're all good except for Avatar.

How could I forget those.

I really hadn't given much thought to this subject, actually, which might be surprising to people who know me well. xD

I have given this some thought lately, now, and the only two directors I can surely settle on without question are Ang Lee and Martin Scorsese.
