Please note this thread will feature open discussion about unrevealed megas, including those intrinsic to the main story.
So the base game of Pokémon Legends Z-A has graced us with 26 (24 available atm, with Delphox and Chesnaught being distributed at a later date) new Mega Evolutions. Do you have any new favorites? Have you had the opportunity to use them in your playthrough?
I'll be honest, the megas felt sorta hit or miss this time (though I wasn't really crazy about the concept of megas in the first place), but there's still a fair bit here I really vibe with:

I'll be honest, the megas felt sorta hit or miss this time (though I wasn't really crazy about the concept of megas in the first place), but there's still a fair bit here I really vibe with:
- Scolipede - In terms of pure design, this is the big standout to me. The armor gives it like feudal Japan horse armor energy and the added blues are very striking. I went out of my way to grab a Venipede for my playthrough because of it.
- Excadrill - Another visualy striking one. And it's for a mon I didn't initially care about. Also like, it's stupid powerful too. What I initially recruited to help me cover one of the rogues ended up being like the mvp of my team both in the main story and the online battle club. Definitely gives me a whole new appreciation for Excadrill
- Froslass - This one is really majestic and i love how towering it feels compared to most other megas. I really wish I was able to use it, but I didn't get a dawn stone til late game, when I ultimately already basically had my final team set.
- Starmie - Definitely one of the more controversial ones, and I totally understand that. I struggle to say it's an objectively good design, but I love it. It's so stupid yet equally terrifying (particularly with that (story) run in the rogue fight). Starmie is already a mon I really liked, so I liked he got something extra here, even if it's objectively maybe lazy compared to other megas.
- Drampa - They made him youthful again, and i think that's funny. The black color scheme, viking horns and storm clouds and the complete opposite energy of it being menacing is neat too. It and the original form basically tell the story of a menacing warrior mostly mellowing out with age.
- Delphox - I admittedly can't judge it in game yet but in terms of pure visuals of what we've seen, I think it's great! It feels more complete and satisfactory compared to the base form and explicitly more witch-like. I think the added purples do a lot too.
- Greninja - Much like Delphox, this definitely helps make the ninja characteristics nore obvious, and the giant shuriken is bad ass. I wouldn't say it's better than the base form (Greninja is one of my like... all time favs), but I still really like this mega and am pretty satsified with it.
