Of the first five Japanese Pocket Monsters movies, which one do you think had the best orginal score. Keep in mind that if you've only seen the Dub versions, you might not be familiar with the music from the first three movies, since the original score was replaced when they were brought overseas. Although, the music from the first movie was heavily kept in the series Dub during the first few seasons.
While I personally think all the movies have outstanding music, my first choice would definately be the second movie, Revelation Lugia. It had same of the strongest and most moving music of of the five movies in question IMO. A few of the instrumental BGM tunes are on CD, but most are no wher to be found unless you watched the original movie or the Japanese episodes (the BGM from movie 2 only started getting inserted into the regular series by episode 186, well past the time when the Dub started replacing most original tunes).
Some of my favorites from that movie included:
A well composed remix of the RBY surfing theme,
The tunes used when Misty, Tracey, and Melody pursue Ash across the see,
The tune used when Ash and co. escape from the flying ship (it was actually kept in the Dub in Battle Frontier episode Going for Choke when Banette starts using frustration,
The tune used when Lugia appears and engages with the other three legendary birds,
The music that plays when Ash and his Pokemon set off to retrieve the final orb, and later with the help of Team Rocket,
The dramatic piece that place when Misty saves Ash from drowning, up until the point when ash puts the final orb in place (Note: many have previously noted this tune for it's usage in the flashback scene in the original versions of episode 275 during the flashback scene, and in AG6 when Jessie and James say their goodbyes to Arbok and Weezing, though I don't think anyone has ever mentioned that the tune originally came from Revelation Lugia),
And the piece used at the very end just before Toi et Moi and the credits.
BTW, none of the above mentioned tunes are on any CD AFAIK.
