They can be said by the characters or about them. Some quotes may be more iconic than others, but that doesn't matter. Off the top of my head:

Spider-Man: "...because I didn't realize in time that with great power there must also always be great responsibility. But I know it now. And so long as I live, Spider-Man will never shirk his duty again! Robbers, killers, beware! Spider-Man is here!" (from the first episode of the original '60s series)

Wolverine: "I'm the best there is at what I do. But what I do best isn't very nice."

Batman: "Criminals are a superstitious, cowardly lot."
