Seeing the thread for funniest commercials gave me the inspiration to start this thread. So the topic of discussion here is what are your favorite video game commercials for any reason? Are they funny? Are they really epic?

My favorites are for Assassins Creed 2, Gears of War and Halo 3.

I love this commercial because it shows off just how versatile and deadly in combat Ezio is. The music also is perfect for the mood of most of the game. Also, the voiceovers are perfect for setting the stage for the intricate and emotional plot. (The only bad thing is the Ezio in the commercial isn't the game Ezio, but that's a minor detail).

The music again sets the perfect tone for the Halo verse. Also, Cortana's words about herself (and the Chief) are incredibly meaningful to the plot of the game (and of the entire trilogy). And the last line, "This is the way the world ends" is a wonderful reference to a famous poem.



And my favorite video game commercial ever was for the first Gears of War.

This song is the perfect fit for this entire game. In fact, this commercial made me buy this game. I can remember the first time I saw this commercial, I thought "This game is going to be epic" and it was. The Gears of War universe is not a universe that lives on happy endings. The game is full of sadness and pain, and this commercial, with the sad song and the dark hues, captures that perfectly.


So people, what are your favorite ads for games and why?

Haven't seen a lot lately, but I like the video game commercial for HG/SS. It's epic, but not too epic.
 
Dante's Inferno
This one was presented during the Super Bowl, and when I saw it, I thought it was one of the most epic (RECENT) commercials out now XD. I like it~

Halo 3
This commercial was win, nuff said >:)

Final Fantasy XIII
lol.... this commercial was really nice, and I really liked it~ ALSO... it's on Sportscenter XD
 
Gears Of War has the best VG advert of all time.

Nintendo could learn a thing or two.
 
The Backbreaker commercial did a good job showcasing the game's revolutionary take on sports games.

YES. I loved the GoW advertisment, it was so depressing and captured the game really well.
 
The one that comes to mind was from around 1996-7. It was for Final Fantasy VII. The line I remember is - and it's not word for word - "If you succeed, you save the world. If you fail, hit the reset button."
