So what's everyone's most favored setting? Like a game set in the future or something.

I personally like games that are set or based on the past. Games like Uncharted and Assassin's Creed are pretty good examples.

I also like games that have a lot of their own lore like the Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, and World of Warcraft are great examples

.

Love the Dragon Age, Shin Megami, Tearaway, and Final Fantasy worlds.

This might be predictable, but Pokemon is up there for me, I think mostly because it's fun to imagine myself with a Pokemon teams. I also think the universe of Fallout reaches that perfect balance of fantasy and believability. And when you combine the two, you get Shin Megami Tensei!

For me, personally, it is a tie between the Underground in UNDERTALE, and Avalice in Freedom Planet. Both are unique, and incredibly diverse, each with a little separate culture in each area of both settings.

I like video game worlds that have a basis in fantasy, but are otherwise set in a modern period, like Earthbound for instance. The main series Pokemon games also use this kind of setting.

I like a lot of video game settings so I'm not too picky about it, but fantasy like Pokemon, Touhou, and Fire Emblem games are up there for me.

I love settings with wacky, colorful worlds and characters. I also love neo-futuristic settings and settings that give off a European vibe.

I personally like the Post-Apocalyptic and Barren Wasteland kind of setting like Gears of War, Borderlands and Fallout.

I really like settings like Beyond Good & Evil, original, water-based, a little overcast and Star Wars-y? Not as space-y or anything, but cool technology that isn't exactly high-tech but is pretty advanced, like jet packs and all

And my favourite video game setting of all time is from Mischief Makers. If I could leave Earth and live there... I totally would.

I'm more of a fantasy/medieval setting, a la Zelda and Skyrim. Not a totally huge fan of sci-fi or post-apocalyptic settings, also a la Fallout.

Fire Emblem's settings really appeal to me. I love the way their magic works (okay, at least on the GBA) and the fact that you have entire militaries who train to ride pegasi and wyverns.

Well, I am rather fond of magical fantasy worlds myslef, preferably those where their technology is about the same as the medievil period (assuming that there is technology and the inhabitants of said world don't use magic for everything). Though if the setting in question has something that makes it unique from most other settings (like Xenoblade Chronicles' Bionis and Mechonis) then it's alright in my book.

...Though I really prefer it if the setting actually looks pretty (such as anything and everything in Okami). If it looks bad, then I'll likely feel bad walking around it.

I like huge fantasy settings. Skyrim is one of my favorites, and I'm eagerly anticipating Breath of the Wild for the same reason. Zelda with a vast, variable overworld with Magitek? Sign me up!

I like cyberpunk setting games like Snatcher & System Shock. For the most part, I enjoy games set in the distant future like Portal.
I also love stylized vintage setting like Bioshock.

Fantasy/medieval. Really though, give me a sword and some sorcery and I'll be happy.

I liked the emphasis on the real-life premise of Pokémon, that was especially prevalent in RBY and GSC (and seemed to have made a comeback in a modified form in XY). That was something I don't see that often in RPGs - the only other examples I know are Shin Megami Tensei, Yokai Watch, and maybe Earthbound.

Urban Fantasy has got to be my fave, but Steampunk is good too. I also really like some Sci-Fi settings, like Cloudbank in Transistor.

I love fantasy settings, especially from Elder Scrolls and Warcraft. Azeroth is kind of like a second home.
