Just as the title says, what was your favourite Movie of the decade(2000-2009)? I am going to have to go with "Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind", in my own opinion, this movie was brilliant, and I thought the ending was marvellous.
Unless I remember something I liked more, "Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind" takes My vote.

What was your favourite movie of the decade?

I know it's late, but I tried searching this, and couldn't find anything, so if it has already been done, sorry.

The decade? That's going back a long time. Erm let me see.

Horror = Maybe 'SAW'

Comedy = 'Scary Movie 2'

Fantasy = 'Big Fish'

Xmas Film = 'Elf'

There's so many great movies been made in the last ten years. I'm probably forgetting loads!^

^Cool avatar by the way.

Sheez. It's been a long decade, with a lot of great movies; picking out a best one of all ten years is nearly impossible. Right now, this moment I'd have to say my personal pick would be...

Defiance. It has all the emotional power of movies associated with the holocaust, but unlike the similar Valkyrie, it has a stronger message of hope. Less tragedy, more victory. Also, less Tom Cruise, more Daniel Craig.

Battlefield Earth, there is no movie I like or enjoy more than this, I lol'd all the way through it.

My favourites are all of the Fast And Furious movies.

My favorite: The Last Samurai

Other notables: I am Legend, Rush Hour 3, Patriot, and Spiderman 2

It is tough for me to pick one, but if I had to it would be The Royal Tenenbaums (2001). It cemented Wes Anderson as a favorite director.

Other flicks I dug, in no real order:

There Will Be Blood (2007)
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
A Serious Man (2009)
Sideways (2004)
Mystic River (2003)
The Dark Knight (2008)
Wallace & Gromit in; The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)
The Wrestler (2008)
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
Thank You for Smoking (2005)
Capitalism; A Live Story (2009)
Bowling for Columbine (2002)
Love Actually (2003)
Les triplettes de Belleville (The Triplets of Belleville) (2003)

And a helluva lot more...

Geeze, a whole decade? Well let's see...off the top of my head...

Best Comedy: Austin Powers in Goldmember
Best Superhero Movie: The Dark Knight
Best Animated Movie: Spirited Away
Best Family Film: Shrek
Overall Best Film: Avatar

Great taste in movie my good sir; I have seen all most all of those movies, and the ones I have seen are brilliant.

Best Family Film- Scooby-Doo: The Movie (2000)
Best Foreign Animated Film- Spirited Away (2003)
Best Comedy- The Hangover (2009)?
Best Live-Action Movie- Avatar (2009/2010)

And, after just having watched it, Mr. Bean's Holiday deserves an honorable mention under comedy. But I'm not sure if that was this decade...

LoTR, The Hangover, Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Inglorious Basterds, SuperBad, The Wrestler, Thank you for Smoking...

those are just the ones off the top of my head. There's a ton more.

Great choice in movies here as well.

Since everyone is naming more then one, I shall name some others.

Inglorious Basterds
The Dark Knight
No Country For Old Men
Kill Bill
Pan’s Labyrinth
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

I have more, but this is what I just thought of.

Romeo And Juliet With Leonardo DiCaprio Is Just Spectacular

Romeo + Juliet (1996)
Hehe

Anyway, the decades been a blur for me. I've been looking through top 100 lists just to remember what came out. I can't think of any movies that I remembered past a week afterwards that I actually liked. I think there were too many "melancholy" angled flicks (Napoleon Dynamite and Any Movie starring Bill Murray where Bill Murray isn't portraying A Cat are the first I think of) and comedies starring SNL alumni for my tastes.

If I had had to suggest a film I would have to say Minority Report because, even though I didn't like it, it was the only sci-fi flick of the aughts I didn't completely forget about in a week.

Oh man, I don't think I could answer that. My top movie of the year is a toss up between Watchmen and Inglorious Basterds. As for the decade, I'll have to contemplate on that...
