i was just looking through the recent thread about least favourite games and it made me realise most games have their flaws but which was your favourite for me it was probably platinum it unlike other 3rd games such as emerald it had a difference to DP and felt like a new game sinnoh overall had a good set of gym leaders and elite four and i liked team galactic so what is your favourite game

I haven't played 4th or 5th gen, so this might change in the future, but I really love Hoenn. I love that nature feel, and it's such a pretty region. I also like Team Magma and Aqua.

Black and White 2, hands down, are the Magnum Opus of the franchise. A huge Pokedex, a vast region to explore again (and with new areas, too), interesting characters (except for Hugh, Hugh sucks, but anyway), a practical concert of music, a good difficulty (this game has really good AI compared to past installments, from what I've seen), a MASSIVE post-game, an interesting side-app... These, my friends, are the ingredients to the game of gods (or perhaps Arceuses?) This is why X and Y are my least favorite; after a kingly game, X and Y backtracked on all of these except for the Pokedex and side-app, but anyway, enough negativity. While Black and White were good and probably had better story, these games took everything else B&W had turned it up to eleven. There you have it; my favorite game.

Also, it's funny: I was just going to post a topic on this. Now I don't have to; thanks GaryOak123!

Pokémon Conquest to me. Best gameplay (strategy games > life), fun characters, etc.

As far as mainline games are concerned, Platinum is my favorite Pokémon game, with Black and Emerald as close second and third.

My top 5 would be like this:

1. HeartGold/SoulSilver:

These games are in my opinion the best Pokémon games to date! I have always had a soft spot for remakes, and these games are just perfect. The way Johto has been recreated is simply beautiful. The Buildings and the environment feels just so wonderful to walk through. At the same time, I really like the adding of some new areas such as the Safari zone as well as the updated look to some of the Towns.

Also the Gym Leaders are way better than in original games. The best example of this is Clair having a Gyarados instead of just 3 Dragonair. The Gyms are also redesigned beautifully.

Also the fact that you can catch numerous of Legendary Pokémon including Mewtwo is very cool. And there's just something about the pure Graphics that just feels much better than DPP.

2. X and Y

The newest games are also amazing. The Graphics which are outstanding as well as all the new features like Mega Evolution and Trainer Customization just feels so fresh. The Online features are also way more up to date.

3. Black 2 and White 2

I really disliked BW since the region was too simple and straight. BW2 surprisingly fixed all those problems with new areas, and much more variated and upgradet Unova Region, which actually made the games feel like a new generation to mee. There fore, they are some of the most memorable and enjoyable Pokémon games to me.

4. FireRed and LeafGreen

Also fantastic remakes with good Graphics and a well recreation of all the different musical themes from the original games.

The addition of the Sevii Islands also fitted perfectly in the games and made them last longer.

5. Pokémon Emerald

This game was a big surprise to me when it came out, since I think it did so many Things better than R/S. The slightly better Graphics as well as moving sprites just felt wonderful. Also the story with both Team Magma and Team Aqua was way more superior. I really hope that Game Freak will implement just some of the elements from Emerald into OR/AS, as for example the Gym Leaders and E4, which had a slightly better Pokémon Team overall than R/S. It turns out to be quite interesting already, since Phoebe from E4 has a Dusknoir instead of 2 Dusclops. I'm so excited to see more! Anyway, that was my top 5 Pokémon games.

I beleive we already had have a thread for this, so I'll just post what I said there:

I'd say, as far as the main series goes, Black and White would be my favourites, seeing as 1: those games are simply great story-wise, 2: they have some of the best music of a main series game and 3: it was when I really started to get into compeditve battling, which also means a lot of my favourite Pokemon come from these games (even though there are a few lame ones like Beeheem (or however you spell it) and Cryogonal.)

And my overall favourite Pokemon game (and spin-off) is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky because 1: you can play as a non-starter (I don't like the Gen 1-4 starters as much as Shinx, so sue me,) 2: Better story then B/W, 3: GREAT music such as Don't Ever Forget (aka. I Don't Want To Say Goodbye,) Dialga's fight to the finish, Temporal Tower, In The Morning Sun and the instant clasic that is Through The Sea of Time and 4: Adictive (allbeit somewhat repeditve) gameplay

I don't have a favorite. But I do like going back to W2 once in a while. Explorers of Sky is my favorite spin-off. With Conquest in 2nd.

GSC of course, you really can't ignore the power of nostalgia. Grew up with those games, made some great friends because of those games, some of whom I am still friends with today. Will always be my top pokemon game.
