Favourite Pokemon Movie?

I think this may have been brought up on another thread but, mine is either Pokemon 4Ever or Rise of Darkrai. I never liked the third movie at all for some reason.

umm... I like pokemon the movie 2000 and the Darkrai movie.... now Giratina will*hopefully* be on my fav. list

I absolutely love The Rise of Darkrai, with Lucario and the Mystery of Mew coming in at a close second.

Ranking from best to worst:

1.) Mewtwo Strikes Back. This might just be nostalgia, but that movie did it first, and was really groundbreaking (in the Pokémon world, not the movie world, obviously).
2.) The Spell of the Unown. I thought this one was really unique, and combined a lot of different focuses with really great (and trippy) art, and an actually good plot that subverts the whole battle of the titans theme they like a lot.
3.) The Power of One. This was my favorite back in the day, probably because I was obsessed with Zapdos. Upon seeing it again a year ago, it was still good, but not quite up to par with the the movies before and after it.
4.) Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Yes, after putting the first three movies on top, I am following with the eighth. I thought this one was relatively well-written and not clichéd, with some good characters and emotion, and a lot of cuteness in the almost unimportant to the movie Mew scenes. I'm a sucker for cuteness. And character death? Hooray for endings that aren't sunshine and lollipops!
5.) Pokémon Heroes. Kind of simplistic and without much plot, but still charming, and it avoids being painful most of the movie through. Also, more bittersweet endings!
6.) Destiny Deoxys. I wouldn't call it terrible, but it is pretty much Pokémon A is mad at Pokémon B, violence ensues, and tack on humans and little Pokémon for good measure. Kind of like the Transformers, but with much worse action and better characters.
7.) Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea. It was bad. It's like distilled everything bad about the show. There was very little plot, and only a little cuteness (Buizel and Manaphy, particularly) to attempt to make up for it. And at the end... WHY IS EVERYONE FLYING? WHY?!

I haven't seen the rest, so I withhold judgment.

I love lucario and the mystery of the mew so much. It's my favorate movie of the series.

Mewtwo Strikes Back - Going strictly by the dub, it was a godawful, unintelligible mess that was literally embarrassing to watch.

Power of One - I enjoyed it better than the first movie, mainly because I think Lugia is friggin awesome. The whole "collect three orbs" quest felt forced, but it was still pretty fun.

Spell of the Unown - Now we're talking. A more down to earth plot (well, compared to the earlier movies anyway), with Ash not tasked to save the world, but to save his mom and some great battle sequences.

Pokemon 4Ever - Ugh, it felt this movie dragged on 4ever, and I came close to just shutting the damn thing off several times. Even the whole "Young Professor Oak" subplot wasn't very much fun. I guess it gets points for being the first dub movie to keep the original music track.

Pokemon Heroes - This one more than makes up for the snooze-fest of the fourth movie. An interesting story, nasty baddies and a somewhat bittersweet ending make it one of my favorite entries in the series.

Jirachi Wishmaker - The first Advanced series entry was a pretty damn good one. The story was a bit darker, and the action scenes seemed a bit more intense... probably the first Pokemon movie I wouldn't recommend very little kids watching. Still, thumbs up from this older fan.

Destiny Deoxys - Meh. Not close to the WORST movie in the series, but it was kind of boring and trite. Way too long. What was the deal with those stupid block robots at the end?

Lucario and the Mystery of Mew - A GREAT movie with some powerful scenes and nice action sequences.

Pokemon Ranger - I'm sure I'm the minority here, but I really liked this one. Yeah, the whole plot is pretty much the same as Jirachi Wishmaker, but I think it does enough different to set it apart. The first movie dubbed by PUSA, they really stepped up and did a great job with it. I have no doubt if 4Kids was still dubbing it, we'd get an endless line of pirate puns spilling out of Phantom...

The Rise of Darkrai - You know what?... I didn't really care for this one. If Pokemon Ranger recycled part of one movie, then Rise of Darkrai recycled parts from ALL the movies. It was nice to see Dawn and Ash working together to save the day, but personally, it barely ranks above Destiny Deoxys with me.
Oh, and the ending sucked.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the point of this thread... my favorite one is Spell of the Unown.

I kind of agree on Movie 10. I understand it was suppose to be a homage of all the previous movies, but it really wasn't anything all that memorable itself. I did enjoy some parts of it like Oracion and the CG of the legends fighting, but it wasn't anything to write home about.

Still Movies 4 and 7 easily rank among some of the weakest movies. I understand why so many people have problems with these two.

I really enjoyed all the others, Movie 3 really was underrated back when it came out, mainly because the fad was dying and not many people saw it in theaters. Movie 3 always seems the most overlooked of the original three movies.

Many of the Pokemon movies were mostly okay or nothing spectucular, but there were a few movies I enjoyed.

Lucario and The Mystery of MEw- the most well written and well out played movie. I really enjoyed it, and one the few I have.

Jirachi Wishmaker- I really enjoyed this one, esepcially bringing upon the carnival which I loved.

Pokemon 3- This one was the most violent to me some reason, but the story was enjoyable.

For once I'd agree with Scott when it comes to movies. :/

2 and 8 are my tops. Then comes 5 and 10.

For me, Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, was the best Pokémon movie that I saw.

For a time I would have said that Pokémon 3: The Movie was the best one, but after the garbage that was the first two movies (the first one especially)it isn't surprising that the third was so much better than the first two movies.

I still hate the end of the third movies end credits when you find out that Molly's mother isn't dead after all, but whatever (and yes I know that it was a dub mistake on 4Kids part, but it's still annoying that there is no answer given why Molly's mom is mysteriously alive in the dub).

Probably Movie 3. That ruled. An unorthodox threat, Misty and Brock doing stuff, a ton of connections with the series with Delia playing her largest role ever and Charizard putting in an appearance, several great battles, learning a bit about Ash's and Delia's pre-show lives, Team Rocket having some great lines, a heartbreaking storyline, being paired with my favorite of the Pikachu movies... I just love it so much.

An honorable mention goes to Movie 8, but... I'm just so tired of that being counted as the best movie. :P Also liked Movie 6, despite my intense dislike for Butler being forgiven at the end even though he did not deserve it in the least.

Also coming in to defend Movie 7 and 9. I rewatched the former lately, and the only real flaw I saw with it was the stupid ending sequence. And I've ranted about why I like Movie 9 enough for one lifetime, so I'm not going to bother repeating myself yet again. :x

Yeah, it is true that the beginning and middle of Movie 7 is fairly decent, its only the terrible ending with the block robots that ruins it. If you eliminated the last 20 minutes of Movie 7, it would have been a much better movie.

That, and Tory sucked. It might have had to do with the fact that he had the same voice as Richie, or that he was another one of those lame-ass kids who is too scared to do anything, (I know he was emotionally scarred, but still), but the character SUCKED.

I am so tired of Ash helping those loser filler boys with Richie's voice.

Either that or Tory brought back memories of all those horrid filler characters from the Johto saga, who all have the same personality, and anything that reminds me of those filler kids from Johto is NOT a good sign. Ugh.

Tory is quite possibly the worst movie character of any of the one-shot movie characters.
