February 2013 "Pocket Monsters Special" Review Thread

Continuing on from last month's thread....which doesn't exist, the League has started. Last time, Black fought Loo...er, Handa Samurou, and won.

Just picked up both magazines.

Pokemon Fan:
The final battle of the League was between Black and Iris. As the pics depicted, Iris's Fraxure evolved into a Haxorus during its battle with Brav. The two then switched to Druddigon vs Tula. Black asked about Iris's reason for taking on the League (which Iris had this mockery blush saying she's flattered that Black is interested in her), and she revealed that she hailed from Blackthorn City, aspiring to be an expert in Dragons. She was quite full of herself, but could not really learn how to master her powers, which was why the Blackthorn Elder invited Drayden all the way over from Unova to take her under his wing. Iris was reluctant at first, but Drayden proved himself much stronger than her by using his Druddigon to defeat her Lapras. She claimed that being the Champion would be her goal, and thus, upon arrival in Unova, Drayden brought Iris to see Alder. The two men became Iris's mentors afterwards, and Iris was determined to conquer the League this time, because she wanted to get even with N for hurting the pride of Alder. At the end, Black's Carracosta managed to defeat Haxorus with an Ice Beam, but Black assured Iris that he would fulfill her determination, because he too, wanted to defeat N...

Ichiban:
Cheren was seen fighting Petashi, and easily defeated his Deino with his Unfezant (male). However, Black noted that Cheren was unexpectedly cold towards his opponents, and didn't even smile upon winning. He wondered what is wrong with his childhood friend. Next up is the Hoodman vs Marlon, with Beheeyem vs male Jellicent. Jellicent seemed to have locked down Beheeyem's Energy Ball with its Curse Body, but Beheeyem retaliated with Shadow Ball and gained victory. Upon victory, the Hoodman mentioned that by observing and encountering powerful trainers at the League, he could learn a lot for his research. The next match was Iris vs Gray (the chapter wrote the italics Glay, and then said it meant the 'gray-colour'. Judging from PokeSP's frequent mis-spelling tendency, I believe it's meant to be Gray). Gray is depicted to be maniacal about cold things, and used a Cryogonal to trap Iris's Fraxure with an ice chain. However, Iris has learnt how to counter this by training with Brycen, and eventually defeated Cryogonal. Finally, Brycen arrived at the League, and believed that when the Gymleaders said they had 'no recollection' about their kidnapping, he believed that something must have tampered with their memory, which was something that the Pokemo Beheeyem could do. Seeing how the mysterious Hoodman incidentally owned this Pokemon, he recruited White's help in investigating upon it...

Appears to me that the Hoodman may simply be Colress with the 'research' thing and the fact that it may be linked to the Gymleaders' kidnapping. Colress did have a Beheeyem in the games, so we may have been hyping up too much about the Hoodman after all.

So Black defected Iris & Won the Pokemon League !
At Least , One Pokemon Protagonist Won the League .
Iris was a perfect opponent for the League final since She's the champion in B2W2 !
She may be younger however She was train by Draydan , Alder & Brycen .
Unlike Trip who just started Training Pokemon .
So , What Next ?
Champion League Ark !
After All , N start his master plan from Pokemon League .

And I disagree with you about ''Champion League'' .
There is a ''Champion League'' in Pokemon adventure .
It was reveal during Rudy & Sapphire Chapter .
Trainer has to win the Pokemon League & then he/She can challenge the E4 & Champion .
So As Champion League, I meant Black challenging the E4 and meeting N there .
And I have a reason for bring Trip.
I feared that somebody might get pissed at me for always opposing Trip as a Main rival but being totally okay with Iris being Black's opponent in League final since She's younger then Black or any other Participant.
So I explain the reason behind it When I declare Iris as the perfect opponent in League final.
Anyway ,
I really like Black reaching this far without Munna beating his Dream .
I was afraid that he will be nothing without Munna eating his Dream but I guess I was Wrong.
So, Who will win the Unova League ?
Is it going to be Black , Cheren or Colress.
The One that I feared is already out .
Let be honest , The Hoodman have to Colress.
I smelled right away when he was talking Blah blah Blah about meeting strong people in League for his research .
Unless Its ''N'' in disguise .
And Cheren seem to going though some issue .
Black notice that too.
I wonder what going on with Cheren.
So , Are Cheren & Hoodman the other 2 Semi-finalist???
Ohh ,
I also notice here that Black lack's 2 Pokemon in his party.
Off-course , I can guess the other 2 pokemon
Munna Probably will come back in the 5th slot So Rashirem probably will take the 6th slot.
But Rashirem can't be with Black forever .
If it does happen then Black not only be the only adventure Protagonist to catch a Version Mascot but he will also become the strongest Adventure Protagonist .
You know ,
We should have a new sticky Thread to discuss Capture/Evolution/release in Pokemon Adventure .

The Manga Iris doesn't have a cute small Axew to hide under her hair !
Doesn't that Make Manga Iris less cooler ?
I think Manga Iris is more developed then Anime Iris even if Kusaka didn't gave her a fully evolved & developed Dragonite .
She also seem more sarcastic then Anime Iris .
I wonder if Clare , Lance & Iris will reveal to be friend's since she came from Blackthron city.
I was also hoping Manga Iris to untied her hair and reveal her original hairstyle.
Still !
Who's else in the Semi-final beside Black & Iris ?
Is the final going to be Cheren vs Black ?

Doesn't that Make Manga Iris less cooler?

No. To me it makes her seem more independent from Axew's shadow behind her.

I think Manga Iris is more developed then Anime Iris even if Kusaka didn't gave her a fully evolved & developed Dragonite .

Of course she is more developed in the manga. She is more developed in the games as well even though she is a student but atleast she's more humble and her pokemon are much better.

I wonder if Clare , Lance & Iris will reveal to be friend's since she came from Blackthron city.

This is why I was hoping for Iris to travel to Johto so that we could find out. That would be better than her staying in Unova.
