Does anyone but me find it easier to get female starters if bred from another female? (Rather than using a male starter and a Ditto)

I know the chances are only about 12% or so, and I tend to spend some time breeding with Ditto to get one, but once I do suddenly they start showing up all the time. I just tried breeding two Totodiles and got two females in a row:p A similar thing happened when I got a female Turtwig in a trade.

Coincidence? Just curious:p

Just hatched another. That makes it 4 Totodile eggs, 3 of which were female.

I hatched 2 boxes full of eevee trying to get a female, got none. Then I hatched an egg from my 'Mystery Egg' box, no prizes for guessing what was in it..

I have 5 female Eevees at the moment... for some reason they were never hard to get, once again I started with a male Umbreon and a female Jolteon I got in a trade:p I don't think I've ever bred Eevee to Ditto...(Cept maybe for Masuda-methoding with a Japanese Ditto)

Same luck showed up when I was playing Ruby to send some Pokes to Pal Park and I decided to soft reset for a female starter. I tried over an over again for Mudkip and Treecko then I gave up...and on the next round I got a female Torchic.......I decided to keep that one in the Ruby-game and bred from it later, sending the chicks over instead.

I normally end up getting a female starter anyway, I dont see the point in SR'ing for one

Not when you're THAT lucky XP
I prefer having females for breeding. I have an own starter box with every female starter in their first evolutionary line and fully evolved male ones (except Torterra which was the female Turtwig I got in the trade) not to mention, they're treasured at GTS XD Heck I could get almost anything whenever I put up a female Eevee...unfortunately several of the legends I got were hacked (Jirachi and recently Entei) but I also got a seemingly legit Darkrai and Articuno.

For a female eevee ? Does it take long for somebody to accept the trade ?

I would guess not

My personal fav are female combee .... those things have gotten me 5 deoxys ... for a not very good vespiquen. insane

cause most of the deoxys were haxxors or very badly trained ... but still ... traded them on.

It's just coincidence. I have been doing Growlithe lately (75 male 25 female), and sometimes I'll get strings of Females and then none for a long time, sometimes it'll be 3 and then 1...

Yup... (Well the Articuno may have been for a starter)
I usually checked them once every day or so, and quite often the Eevee was gone when I came back.

Perhaps it helps that most trade-offers on GTS are INSANE anyway. Like people constantly begging for level 100 event Pokèmon for stuff like Rattata.... but that's a different rant:p

I usually don't have a problem getting female starters either way, but I have noticed that in my platinum where I chose the female character I get mostly females while in diamond I chose the boy and get mostly males.

i can give a definet ansure to this. yes, breeding a female starter with a ditto will increase the chances of the baby being female. i know cause i used to breed mudkip with my male starter, i got three males and one female.

Four eggs does not a rigorous experiment make.

You would have to have at least 100 eggs, with significantly more than an eighth of them female, for me to start to believe that your hypothesis is not wrong. Even then, I would prefer to see similar results with more than just one starter (or any Pokemon with that male:female ratio), more than just one test female (including test females that aren't descended from each other), control groups, tests on different save files and on different games, etc. etc.

That said, I would not be upset if rigorous testing did end up showing this result. Isn't wishful thinking fun?
