Fes Mission & Join Avenue Discussion

A pamplet has emerged on the internets detailing two new features in Pokémon Black Version 2 and White Version 2:

First up is Fes Mission, which is similar to the EntraLink in that you do missions with friends and get prizes based on your score.
Next is Join Avenue, which is part of a shopping centre which can be built up by communicating with friends.

So yeah, discuss!

Joint Avenue is gonna be that huge gatehouse between Route 4 and Nimbasa City if I were to hazard a guess. I have no idea though on why the hell we need a social shop game. Also good to know entralink actually changed a bit, and is now called Fes Mission, whatever the hell that means. I know it doesn't SAY entralink is replaced, but no point in having both in there, eh? Also

It seems like these are extensions of the Entralink Missions and Black City/White Forest respectively. The original missions (primarily consisting of "find and talk to the other person") were a little lacking in BW1 so I'm hoping we get some properly fleshed out original missions that could maybe even expand on the game's story.

As for Join Avenue, I quite enjoyed Black City so I'm hoping it maintains similar functions with possibly even more choices.

great, ANOTHER thing for me that will be permanently barren :c /stares at White Forest...

Man, i hope they tell us this time if we need to speed run the blasted thing to at least have a shot at having it somewhat useful.

Man, i hope they tell us this time if we need to speed run the blasted thing to at least have a shot at having it somewhat useful.

What would be cool is if it works like the StreetPass Mii Plaza on the 3DS, where it will sometimes add players you faced online in games like Mario Kart 7, in that it adds trainers we've battled/traded with. [/hopingfortoomuch].

Join Avenue sounds pretty interesting, you could probably get rarer stuff if you have friends. I hope it isn't (but won't be surprised if it is) Wi-Fi only, because that would suck for people not living in dense areas, like Japan/a big city. Streetpass integration would be better along with using internet capabilities to do sweet hide-n-seek missions with a friend hundreds of miles away.

I can't tell you how long it took me to find someone with a White Version because every other Pokemon player I knew IRL had Black.

I wonder what Fes in Fes Mission means/stands for. It reminds me of Persona 3 FES, in which FES is derived from festival.

Bark Mode on the original Nintendogs and a similar feature on Dragon Quest IX is what inspired StreetPass in the first place. Besides, BW has the C-Gear and its survey feature.

At least Im lucky to have 2 DSes to be able to use these features but I hope it dosent wor like Black City and White Forest, I want to take my time playing through the games and enjoy them rather than stress about speedrunning the game( which ruined my Black playthrough which I recently gave up on) It seems kindof interesting, but again, it seems Game Freak tends to ignore the fact that some people that want to use these features have no one to connect with in real life.

The sooner Pokemon moves to the 3DS, the better; I always feel features like this are entirely wasted without real online connectivity, and Streetpass and Spotpass would really allow these features to actually shine for a bit.

You earn medals when you connect with other players and complete Fez missions (Fes Missions are like the Entralink missions in BW).

They are the only site I can see that has said the medals are directly related to the Fes Missions though.

Hopefully its a connection made due to the location of the box. Otherwise, I have to do something, anything, to get my hands on a DS and the games cause a medal based achievement system for a multiplayer sidequest mode in all of Unova is something that's making me drool for the games.

So it says that berries that weren't available in the last game will be Fes Mission and Join Avenue, which means EV berries may be included hopefully. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone from my hometown who plays Pokemon, and these features are just a lost cause for me.
