it's out!

I'm not far... about to fight Octomammoth.

So far this game is very faitful to the original, the monsters are all modeled exactly like the sprites were in the SNES version.

Dub is good so far, though Kain's voice seems a little too strong.

My only complaint is that Darkness was nerfed. Before it hit all enemies, now it simply doubles attack power of your next attack. This is making some early battles very difficult. Tiny Mages are devastating in groups now since you can't use the Dark Wave on them anymore...

I don't really know what you're talking about because I missed out on the originals of most early FFs. ^_^;

But because of that, I'm getting all the remakes. I'll have IV this weekend.

It's been out since last year.

And yes, it's completely awesome. None of these stupid game-ruining changes Ff1 and FF2 got, and some really nice-looking grphic adaptisons from the original. Here's hoping FFV and FFVI get the same remakes.

Ok, so... correction: It's out and readable :)

On a somewhat related topic. Chrono Trigger has been announced for the DS...

I picked this up yesterday but haven't gotten much of a chance to play it since I've been at work. I just got out into the overworld. But I'm liking it, it's just so shiny.

What I want to know is if it still has that speedy real-time battle system the GBA remake had. That was something of a nuisance as most of the time you can't even think of what move you are doing and you are just trying to race to a screen to beat the clock.

heh, they had Tellah listed as Howlin' Mad Murdoch... I figured that was incorrect and now I see it's gone.

Speaking of voices I was really impressed by young Rydia's acting. Can't recognize the voice though.

Anyways progress wise I'm about to fight Cagnazzo for the first time, I've been hearing he's very much harder than in the original version. I like the Square Enix opted to make this actually harder than the original as opposed to easier. Sometimes I like to be steamrolled in my RPGs.

Got this game the day it came out. It does seem hard, but I didn't play the original or the GBA remake. It seems harder than the everyday RPG though. I got the guide so... heh. I TEH CHEATORZ!

Anyway, the game is great! I'm right after the *SPOILERS* Golbez fight in the underworld.

heh, the way some of the bosses are now. I doubt even a guide like that will save you. I've overleveled for some of these bosses and I'm still getting out on luck mostly.

Well, my strategy that usually works is using slow on boss, then using haste on someone else, then attack/heal accordingly with your characters. Very basic scheme, but you get what I mean.

QFT I swear after like the first archfiend, I swear i had to like play each boss like 10 times before beating them, and then they would get ridiciously hard, which is why I now use GameFaqs for them. And the worst part is that I'm leveled up perfectly.

But this game truly is qwonderful, I love the storyline and everything. I just don't like how everyone is so willing to kill themselves for something. Another thing is that I'd wish everyone would just stay in the party and not go anywhere like later Final Fantasies.

Yeah, but I really can't say "yeah" to without spoilers. Whoever kills themselves, I want them still in my party!

I find the bosses not all that difficult. Rosa needs some really good augments to make her a better healer, though.

Also QFT. Just as I started getting attached to my party of Cecil, Yang, Rydia, Rosa, and Edward, we get shafted. EVERYBODY separates. And then when I get them back, they don't seem as great as they were when they left.

My party's changed like a dozen times now, and I'm just now reaching the second Fiend. @_@

If you beat the second fiend, you'll know what happens, if not...

Once again, your party changes and the twins get turned into stoen. Shame, since I really liked them a llot.

If you haven't beaten him yet, make sure Tsunami doesn't hit you at all.

Dang, that sucks. =/
When I first got them I thought they were a joke, but they're really good...
