Hello,

There might be other threads that are exactly the same, but I don't care.

I want you opinion on what do you think the next trio will be.

Gen. I = Birds
Gen. II = Dogs/Beasts (GO RAIKOU!)
Gen. III = Golems & Weather (I dont understand how Rayquaza has ANYTHING to do with weather)
Gen. IV = Mystic & Dragons

Maybe like... fish or something.

Rayquaza is the clouds, groudon the sun and Kyogre the rain. Not too hard to understand. Anyway, I'm expecting something to do with either the seasons(making a quad) and possibly times of the day(sun, moon, sun-moon hybrid)

God no, we have enough fish. :p

I don't count the version box legendaries as part of a "trio", more like we happen to have three because the creators were actually planning three versions for that generation.

So, I see four trios so far: Birds, Beasts, Golems, and Pixies. For the next one, I always wanted to see a trio of actual dragons. Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina look nothing like dragons, they only have that type. This would be a great opportunity to see some more elemental dragons for once. Fire/Dragon, Ice/Dragon, and Electric/Dragon would be cool.

As for the main legendaries. I don't know. I like the suggestion someone made a while back of having legendaries that represent life and death, but I have no clue what they'd do for a third one.

They have the seasons. Well, kinda. Autumn is left out. Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.

Would Cresselia and Darkrai suit your times of the day? Being dawn and dusk respectively.

Did you forget it's ability, the ability to disregard weather conditions while it's on the field?

I think we should have a ghost trio.

Are there any famous trio of ghost like beings that could be translated into Pokemon?

My Ghost trio would probably mirror the birds, the Golems, and the Pixies rather than the stronger trio of the game mascots.

I'm not sure about the stronger trio, I can't think of anything. There's not a lot of things grouped in threes (that haven't already been done).

I actually was thinking of that but I'm not sure it would work out too well. And the third one would probably something like Undead or something.

Actually the birds do just about nothing, as do the dogs, meaning they represent nothing at all, just the types. Now that I'm thinking of it, Lugia and Ho-oh have dual roles as the sea and sky with night and day respectively, as the dark depths of the sea and the bright skies. Oh and Cresselia and Darkrai are for dreams and nightmares.

Ones to represent life, death...and REBIRTH. They'd probably have some link to Pokemon Tower of Kanto or Mt. Pyre of Hoenn or that other one in Sinnoh.

Stretch, Stinky, and Fatso. They wreak havoc in the Pokemon world with practical jokes and bad puns, and need to be calmed by the mighty Casper.

I knew someone was going to suggest that but as I said something that would be translated into Pokemon. Not sure the Japanese know too much about them, as they're not Japanese mythology.

Just trying to have some fun with all this speculation.

Also, the new Pokedex should be an iPhone/iPhone-like.

What exactly does the golems do? I'm not sarcastic, I don't remember if they do something special, like the Pixies who created/control human traits (can't come up whit a better word:/)

It should be a trio of fight as the primary/secondary type.

Nah, the golems were the legendary birds/cats of the Gen III. They seemed to be idols of an ancient people, but they didn't represent anything. Which isn't a bad thing. the mystery behind them is one of my favorite parts of Gen III.

Legendary cats. I liked it to go back to the fire,ice/water,electric types.

Actually, they represent the Bronze Age, Stone Age, and Ice Age.

And for whoever said the dogs don't represent anything, they do, just not necessarily of anything rom the real world. They represent the lightning that stuck the tower, the fire that burned it down, and the rain that put it out.

As for trio's, I wouldn't mind seeing a trio that works with the generic Fire/Grass/Water.

I hope the legendary trio this time are Snails.

In all seriousness, though, I hope we have the Japanese legend thing of the Snake/Frog/Slug (not sure if it goes that way, but hey).

They were made by humans to stop the god damn beast that's Regigigas, and likely reference to the 3 ages as bulbapedia mentions.

We got 3 legendary beasts which represent each of the 3 domestic(ish) animals, cat, dog, wolf, so no need there.

Um, no - wolves aren't domesticated, and no one can seem to agree if they are more canine or feline anyway. They're just generic beasts based on fire, ice, and lightning like the birds before them were.

For the trio, they do three different types that fit together, usually meaning something else, like the three spirits, so it is probably going to be three types that stand for something complicated.

As for the pokedex thing, F*** THE IPHONE, make it something that has you hold the DS sideways, with the touch screen being the menu and have a left/right handed question at the beginning of the game when you create your character. I just want it to resemble the first pokedex in the anime.

Something else to add. To me, it seems like Zoroark is going to be the new Lucario.
