I am absolutely thrilled by this news. I've been meaning to play FFIV, and now I get it with upgraded graphics, a better translation, and handheld to boot. I'm definitely picking this one up, unless they ruin it somehow.

(Also, since some people can't seem to figure this out, this was FF2 for the SNES - the one with Cecil and Golbez and Tellah and Edward and such.)

FF6 would be nice. And it'll be even nicer if Namco finally decides to translate Tales of Phantasia too.

YES! Damn it Namco, I demand ToP after the bliss of ToS :(

And yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see FFVI or even FFV make its way to the GBA...

I'm excited to play the uncut version of this game on a system that doesn't require you to wait for the disc to load every time you want to go into the menu. Those PSOne remakes were annoying as hell.

Awesome! I have Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, so this is great news! *adds to her Gamespot Wish List*

Sadly Namco are either Xenophobic or don't realsie the value of the western market (FYI, Tales of Symphonias translation came out of Nintendos pocket, Nintendo were probably willing to pay because the gamecube is short on RPGs) so I doubt Tales of Phantasia for the GBA is being officially translated any time soon (what about Nintendo? What about them? The GBA has quite a few RPGs).

As for FFIV. I'm sitting on the fence for this one. chances are they'll manage to ruin it by "upgrades" (like making the inventory bigger removing the careful thought and planning of what to give to the fat chocobo), but yes time will tell...

I dunno what they'll do to the game's difficulty. I mean, Dawn of Souls was easy, but the difficulty from those games in their original states was almost entirely design flaws. FFIV actually had real difficulty to speak of. I think "less tedious" is a better term than "easier" for what FFIV GBA will be.

Apparentley those who buy/pre-order FF4A will get a GBM faceplate featuring what seems to be Cecil
as a Paladin
and Kain. Not that it matters or anything.
