Finally a reward for completing the Pokédex!

Since Pokémon Red and Blue, various rumours about what we would receive for completing the Pokédex have spread by word of mouth or the internet...and aside from a diploma, they've all been pretty much wrong (except for receiving a Johto starter in Emerald for completing the Hoenn Pokédex). However, in Black 2/White 2, that all changes.

Our reward for completing the Unova Dex is the "License" which lets us go to the Nature Reserve and catch a level 60 Shiny Haxorus. For catching all the Pokémon in it, you get the "Round Charm" (makes it easier for the Daycare Man to find eggs).
Our reward for completing the National Pokédex is the "Shiny Charm", which increases the rate Shiny Pokémon appear (by how much is unknown).

Finally, we get some really good rewards! Although I hope they don't make shinys too easy to get, because then they won't be as special. Overall, this is awesome, for the first time ever I will actually do my best to catch 'em all. I will actually catch every pokemon I see. Btw, for the National Dex, is it seeing all of them or catching? (not much difference though) This is so winning.

Nice. VERY nice. I managed to complete BW national dex (except by Keldeo, Meloetta and Genesect, obviously), so I think when I get my B2 copy I'll be very busy transfering Pokémon XD

I'm pretty sure that the only Pokedexes I've ever completed are the Sinnoh regional dex and Hoenn regional dex. I've never really cared about it until now. I hope that we'll get more Pokedex rewards in future games.

I doubt I'll ever complete the National Dex though. 301 will be covered in the Unova regional dex, and probably a few more dozen post game. If it's possible to complete the national pokedex between gen 4 and gen 5, I may be able to do it. At least most of it.

i have already caught atleast one natural shiny in every game ive owned (not including the gyarados), so i dont think i need a charm to help me. but the round charm.... i need it.

Wow thats an awesome gift. I guess I got to try getting the National Dex filled haha. A much better reward than just a diploma, while a diploma is nice, its nicer to see a real reward being given out for people's hard work collecting all the Pokemon.

I may or may not put in the effort for the Shiny Charm depending on how high it increases the encounter rate.

I may actually want to complete the Nat. Dex now, for once. What's good is that the prizes are actually worth something, and not some childish prize you can't use.

This sounds awesome! I just hope the Shiny Charm doesn't increase the rate of shiny Pokemon by too much. As stated earlier, too large of an increase would destroy their value.

But then again, it would make it easier to start building a shiny Pokedex! That would be so fun to do.

So... let me get this straight.

You catch shiny Haxorus for seeing every Unova Pokémon, and get the Round Charm for catching them all. Then after catching all 649 of 'em, you get a Shiny Charm. Sounds balanced. I doubt I'll complete the Dex, but I'm sure it'll motivate a lot of other people to. So this is great, I say.

Actually, I don't have Keldeo, Meloetta, or Genesect yet and I've already gotten the "Completed the National Pokedex" diploma. Hopefully, it will be the same way in BW2.

Better than nothing. Would you rather just have that old crappy diploma? It's a step in the right direction.
